I. Introduction

The inequality is a quality of being unequal or uneven such

as lack of evenness, social disparity, disparity of distribution or

opportunity or the condition of being variable. In this study,

there is a lot of inequality we have here in our society. For

us, Inequality is the inequality of livelihood or wealth or social life and

it is also the inequality among women and men often in the life

expectancy of both genders.

This study will focus on the people that may or may not have a

job, either male or female. We still need to consider if both genders

has the equal occupational opportunities when it comes to their

sexuality. We will conduct a survey for them and asking a few

questions on their current occupational status if their given the unfair

treatment and their solution on how they manage the treatment.

The goal of this project is to know if male and female is being

given the equal chances of having a job, knowing which genders is

given more chances than the other to be employed. This case study

analysis will discuss about the information given to us on what makes

them jobless regarding to their gender. In addition that we gathered

from them, we will propose a solution to the problem so that

everybody can have the given opportunity to get the chance to a

job and have a living.

II. Background

Barangay Pag-ibig sa Nayon has an average wide area for

the people living there. In the past population in that area is

when in 1990, the total number of people living there is 5,360

where job opportunities has harder times for chances. Then now

in 2018, we have around 5,331 in the current population is still in

the same state. Caloocan is the busiest area where people

search and look for jobs to earn a living and helping their

families.

To further understand it, we come up with some questions

to provide us any helpful information relating to the Inequality

regarding of its gender and the occupational status of that

person:

1. Are you satisfied with your current job

position/occupational status?

2. How much is your income on every payday you receive?

3. Do you think your workplace gives the same

treatment/equality on each worker?

4. Does the income you received will provide you the

necessities for you and your family?

5. Do you think gender is a hindrance from getting a job?

III. Alternatives

President Rodrigo Duterte vowed to strengthen gender

equality as he praised the contribution of women in the

country . The Philippines ranks high in the Asia Pacific region and

in the world in terms of gender equality. The administration will

strive to maintain this distinction as well as to continue to

recognize their invaluable contributions in sports, science,

governance, education, public service and the arts. But, it’s

important that we have a gender-balanced leadership, that the

voice of women are heard and the concerns of women are

addressed at the highest level. So they can prove that human are

made equal no to overpower the other group by a simple reason.

IV. Proposed Solution

Gender Inequality is the unfair treatment of men and

women regarding in their gender. It’s also one of the

problems or troubles of getting a job. This problem is mainly

on women because in other people’s eyes, women can’t

keep up what men can do and that is called either being a

feminist or a sexist. The point is not to dominate the weaker

group whether a male or female, simple equality toward all

can help our country more. We can help women in order for

them to learn to speak up than to keep quiet and men can

learn something even from a woman that women can do

better than men can. Like we can conduct a seminar for

both genders to enlighten them about how we should keep

things fair. This can also help giving women a chance to

redeem themselves by proving it in their workplace that they

can do it. This lesson can be essential for future references.

V. Recommendation

As a Development Communication practitioner, we

would like to recommend a seminar to the people who have

problems regarding of job hunting and when it comes to their

gender and helping them learn to achieve of getting a stable

job. It is like a lesson for all then applying it to good use

because not all of us have the chances to do so. Most of the

companies or other possible workplaces can’t accept

people because of gender. It is not about the gender it’s

about how are they qualified to get the job. This can be a

great tip to get a stable regardless of gender.
