My Discipline Plan

Welcome to Mrs. Dillon Class!

We’re so glad you’re here.

All students, friends, family, and staff are welcome with open arms and open hearts. This is a
safe place for all students to come in and learn. To ensure that my classroom is safe and welcoming, we
must all work as a team to keep the peace and harmony of this wonder place. In doing so, we must
follow a few rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all. Our number one rule is that Bully and
Cyberbullying will not be allowed! My classroom has a zero tolerance policy for Bullying and
Cyberbullying. There are no exceptions to this rule! A bully is defined as someone who seeks to harm,
intimidate, or coerce another student, and cyberbullying is when these actions are done online. Bullying
is harmful to not just the victim, but everyone around, so if you see something, say something. We all
must play our part to stop bullying.

In the case that a student is caught bullying, there will be consequences to their actions. If the
bullying is to persist after being warned there will be disciplinary action, up to explosion from our
school. As a class, we will go over the many forms of bullying, and everyone will know what to look out
for (the signs of bullying), and we will discuss what bullying can do to a student, and why it is so harmful
for everyone. In my disciplinary actions, I am guided by the Principles of Professional Conduct for the
Education Profession in Florida, and will follow through with their standards for anti-bullying.

Classroom Rules:

1. There is absolutely no Bullying or Cyberbullying allowed

2. No foul or objective language (If Mrs. Dillon does not say it, neither should you)
3. Respect each student as you would like to be respected
4. No Cheating of any kind is allowed
5. If you see something, say something (if you see something that does not look or feel right, tell
an adult immediately)

What happens if I Break a Rule?

1. The first warning is received, and the student is instructed not to continue or further action will
be taken
2. Second warning and a call home to the parents letting them know what is going on.
3. Third Warning and the student sits next to the teacher during recess and cannot participate in
any activity
4. After School Detention and arranging a parent/Teacher conference
5. Referral and escorted out of the classroom for the day
6. Suspension (indoor or outdoor)
