FILTRATION SYSTEM
II. Operation
1. Mixing:
- Fill about 10 bbls of brine to mixing tank on Slurry skid.
- Put 6 sacks of DE powder (50lbs/s) in the tank make sure the propeller is
operated during powder feeding period.
- Keep operating propeller until the amount of DE powder is completely mixed.
2. Pressing:
- Operating hydraulic pump to press all filter plates.
- Adjust the air regulator to obtain press pressure indicating on pressure gauge in
the range of 2500 ÷ 3000 PSI.
3. Building filter cakes:
- Positioning valves on Slurry skid (mixing tank) to obtain a fluid flow circulating
from mixing tank to DE-Press and return to tank.
- Operate Wilden pump to pump mixed DE brine.
- Feed more brine to tank until getting full circulation.
4. Filtering:
- When the brine returns from DE – Press to mixing tank is quite clear, control the
valves to transfer fluid flow to filter pot.
- Stop Wilden pump and control valves to transfer brine from feed pump direct to
DE-Press.
- Open valves on top of filter vessels for blending air, valves will only be closed
when fluid comes out.
5. Measuring and checking:
- Check NTU for filtered brine by Turdibimeter.
- Check for fluid pressure-in of DE-Press. It needs to be less than 40 PSI.
- Check pressure in and out of filter pots. It will determine filter cartridge changeout.
- Space saving modular design: 9’5”L x 4’4”W x 7’5”H
