DWD BACKGROUND

The Dasmari�as Water District provides water supply to almost all consumers of
Dasmari�as Cavite. It has 671 employees including the regular, contractual, and the
daily employees. DWD�s total service connection is 99,346 and it covers 97% of the
coverage area of Dasmari�as city Cavite. Dasmari�as Water District has 1,374.97KM
pipelines which provides water services to 75 barangays as well as 96 turned over
and serviced subdivisions within the City of Dasmari�as. It is equivalent to
115,808 water service connections. DWD maintains 116 pumping stations for
continuous and uninterrupted supply of safe and clean water.
For some brief history, the Dasmari�as Water District was created by virtue of
Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 09-79. Upon completion of all the requirements,
the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) granted the conditional certificate
of conformance. When the Water District started its operation, there were initially
five personnel including the General Manager. After a year in 1980, things got a
little better. With an approved loan of P150,000.00, the District availed of
P120,000 for their metering program, repair leakages, and for the purchase of
office supplies. In 1983, The first pumping station located in Brgy. San Agustin
was completed. Since then more pumping stations was built in order to effectively
service the growing number of concessionaires. The Municipal government has been
very supportive of DWD. It requires all subdivisions developer to coordinate first
with the District prior to the construction of their water system. It also requires
all developers to turn over their water system to DWD. As of now, there are 96
subdivision water systems that were turned over to the District management. With
the assistance of the local government officials in 1988, the National Housing
Authority (NHA) turned over the DABBWASCO, a private water utility, to the DWD. It
has given 4,800 active connections, 1 ground reservoir, 18 pumping station and
other facilities. In 1995, when NHA transferred to DWD its Paliparan Water System
and Service Projects like water lines, five deep wells with submersible pumps, five
60,000 gallon capacity water tanks and other facilities amounting to P34M.
At present, the DWD has three offices; the main in Poblacion, in Bagong Bayan and
Paliparan; and one collection center: Salawag Collection Center. It has already 110
operational deep wells, 25 standby generator sets and modern computer system for
billing and collections. It has also complete water treatment facilities and
laboratory for physical, chemical, and bacteriological test of water to ensure at
all times the quality of water of District. DWD has about 114,379 water service
connections.
Dasmari�as Water District envisions itself economically viable and sustainable
water agency that will provide adequate, safe, potable and affordable water to all
residents of Dasmari�as, Cavite.

designed to uplift morale and promote integrity, efficiency and responsiveness in
the implementation of its water related programs.
� We are committed to instill public awareness regarding water resources
protection and water conservation to improve the quality and quantity of water
which affects our health and livelihood.
� We are tasked to undertake comprehensive pipeline connections and
rehabilitations extensive metering and monitoring of its facilities and vigorous
campaign against water pilferages.
� These undertakings are best achieved through sound and prudent financial
management and competent manpower
� Thus, it is imperative to motivate our workforce to attain highest degree of
professionalism with a sense of dedication in providing a better public service to
the people of Dasmari�as.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Philosophy of DWD Dasmarinas Water District


(DWD) is going more than enough for their service in terms of water supply. DWD
assures that everyone gets a clean, safe and natural water for daily uses. Making
it even safer, they make sure that they put right dosage of chlorine to prevent the
water from contamination and still undergo for a test if that water is safe or not.
In terms of customer service, their attentiveness and significance is a must to
achieve the satisfaction of their people. DWD makes sure that their contact numbers
and email address are active and updated. The water as part of the lives of people
targets the best necessity in the nearest future.
Corporate Social Responsibility Model of Dasmarinas Water District (DWD) Water is
one of the essentials to survive. But as time passes by, the scarcity and
contamination of water continues to spread due to climate changes, dirty
environment and improper practice of cleansing the water. Dasmarinas Water District
ensures that these major conflicts will not barricade towards their goal of having
their customer satisfied to their service. DWD establishes their major support
turning the problem into a solution in a way that it corrects every mistake and put
first on test before releasing it in every home. DWD's water supply is a 100%
natural so there will be no danger on using it in cooking and washing.
To maximize the effort of giving a 100% eco-friendly service, they use proper
recycling technique to maximize the use of water. Plus, they undergo proper
sanitizing method and medical tests in every employee to prevent the cause of
having contamination due to the employees. In terms of plumbing system, they
conduct observations to fix the broken and damaged water pipelines. Also, if there
are any water pipe lines that are endangered or close to outburst due to weak or
old materials, they immediately fix it to prevent further and bigger problems. DWD
also avoids complains regarding to improper fixation method and slow progress of
fixing water pipe lines and long traffic jam so they fix it mostly by night.
Over the years, Dasmari�as Water District (DWD) has been helping and assisting the
City of Dasmari�as in improving the society. DWD has been doing its corporate
social responsibility through organizing activities and contributing monetary and
non-monetary assistance to help the residents of Dasmari�as and the city itself as
well.
Showing their participation of serving the city, the Dasmari�as Water District has
demonstrated it in many ways:
� Environmental Beautification projects within the city including the
restoration works of sidewalks in Dasmari�as such as those in the Governor
Dominador Mangubat Avenue fronting DLSU Medical Center
� Donations for church-related activities amounting Php 750,000
� Donations for Public Elementary Schools like computers to be used by the
student
� Contributed Php 1,000,000 in the construction of the public library of the
City Government
� Giving scholarships to deserving residents of the City of Dasmari�as

DWD currently has 30 scholars enrolled at Technological University of the


Philippines and TESDA Accredited Schools
� In 2004, DWD spent a total of Php 639,333.72 for its scholars
� In 2005, DWD spent Php 654,840.12 for their 25 scholars
� In 2006, DWD had increased their scholars to 30.
Moreover, it is not just the city of Dasmari�as that DWD helps, but as well as
other water districts through:
� Donating seven (7) used yet of good condition submersible pumps and motors to
small and starting water district.
� Extending financial help to small and medium water districts amounting to Php
1,000,000
All the mentioned projects are made possible through the earned savings of the
company on their purchases of different materials. Dasmari�as Water District has
used the budget allotted for the materials wisely and used the excess or the
savings to help and support others through donations and extending financial help.
