Every idea is very valuable. This value is the basis of the Young Scientisc Seminar and Expo
(YSIS), to make the 2nd Indonesia International Invention Festival 2019. We hope that all the
best inventors always have the spirit to contribute in creating a better world. We also believe
that as inventors, they need to open their relationships and develop through other countries, to
have a broad worldview. Based on this, YSIS provides opportunities for the younger generation
starting from Primary, Junior, Senior, High Schools and college to show their ideas through
their discoveries. We would like to thank you very much for the participants' interest in this
event. During the process for the participants, this is the first step to collaborating and creating
new relationships rather than competition.

What is YSIS?

YSIS is an event consisting of several interesting agendas such as Seminar, and Expo. And
some entertainment programs come from Indonesia.

Why do you have to join?

YSIS has successfully held the first YSIS in 2017 held in Malang. YSIS is an event aimed at
the millennial generation by providing a forum for expressing ideas and ideas in SDG’s 2030.
For YSIS 2019, YSIS will invite several industries in several activities

What is the theme?

YSIS has a theme that is closely related to the millennial generation:

"Young Scientist contribution through innovation of science and technology in response to

SDG's 2030"

it means that the younger generation in response to SDG's 2030 will participate by helping to
produce and achieve something with the aim of achieving a simpler and more modern life with
scientific and technological innovations

Where is the place?

YSIS will be held in Brawijaya University, Malang, Indonesia. Malang is one of the cleanest
and coolest cities in East Java, it's been famous for a long time. Malang is located on a plateau,
90 Km from Surabaya. Because of its high location, the city has cool and comfortable air to
visit. Malang is known as a student city, or many are also dubbed the City of Flowers. In
addition, several objects with agro-tourism themes were found in Malang.
 ABOUT SEMINAR
Seminar - Young Scientist International Seminar and Expo will be held on 24th June 2019 at
Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, Indonesia. One representative from each team will presentate
the team’s paper in a class. The judges will ask some questions that must be answered by
participants.
Terms & Conditions :

1. Open for all students

3. Each team maximum consist of 5 participants

4. Participants choose 1 of 6 categories

5. Pay the registration fee of 50 USD for Internasional participant, and 250.000 IDR for
Indonesia participant,

Paper Submission :

1. Paper should not be more than 4 pages

2. Paper must be written in English

3. Paper must be written in the provided template (download in this link ..)

4. Send full paper in PDF format with attach picture/scan of the student identity card of
all participants and payment slip

Seminar Day:

RULES OF THE SESSIONS

1. All participants must attend the opening ceremony

2. Please arrive at the venues on time. In time is better.

3. Please wear formal attire for the plenary session and seminar presentation.

4. Before entering the venues, all of the delegates must do the registration process by
showing the nametag to the committee on duty.

5. To ensure a high quality time, doing unnecessary and loud talk during the session is
prohibited. So does with other activities that may cause disrupt to the sessions.
GENERAL RULES :
1. Please follow and obey each schedule of the event on time.
2. Please follow and obey instructions from the committee regarding the event rundown
and schedules of the event.
3. All of the delegates must wear the nametag every time and everywhere during the event
sessions.
4. Please take care and keep your own belongings. The committee is not responsible for
any lost problem cause by your own carelessness.
5. Please keep the environment clean.
6. Please take care of your own health and personal needs.
7. It is forbidden for delegates to disrupt each other by talking impolite, doing physical
aggression, or other activities that end up so please use English as your language during
formal session.
8. Any unrelated activities to the event rundown or schedule will be the delegates
responsibilities.

PRESENTATION SESSION :

1. Team will be grouped according to each Seminar categories

2. The presentation by power point
3. For each time must prepare 1 person to representative their team for present the paper
4. 7 minutes presentation in front of the judges and 3 minutes question and answer session
5. Other participants of the team attending technical meeting for expo preparation

PRESENTATION SCORING :
1. Scalability and Sustainability of solution (40%)
-Have they identified a real solution?
-Have they correctly identified the painful problem?
-Do they have a reasonable revenue model/ projection to sustain?
2. Concept Strategy (30%)
-Have they articulated / identified their unique of concept solution ?
 -Does the idea have potential to become regional or international?
3. Overall Idea and Its Feasibility (30%)
-Does the solution address the painful problem of the society?
-Did they articulator a feasible solution that can be develop and rolled out?

 ABOUT EXPO

EXPO - Young Scientist International Seminar and Expo will be held on 25TH June 2019 at
Rectorat Field's of Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, Indonesia. Participants will presentate from
their booth about their own product. The judges will come to them and ask some questions that
must be answered by participants.

Booth
1. Exhibition of works can be in any physical form. Participants are encouraged to display
models, prototype samples or laptop presentations related to discovery / innovation and
design.
2. All evidence such as letters of patent application, papers, journals, etc., must be
submitted to the judge.
3. Participants are responsible for obtaining Intellectual Property (IP) protection for their
products.
4. All participants are required to be at each Booth during the event
5. The committee will only provide several facilities for each group's exhibition, such as:
 table (1 unit)
 chair(2 unit)
 electricity source (1 unit)
6. Participants must bring the following items (if necessary ), such as :
 Display board
 Extension cable
 Bunting Booth (size: 2ft X 6ft)

Note: Participants are responsible for carrying their own bunting Booth (2ft X 6ft).

POSTER
1. The poster must be inculed several things:
 The title of the project
  Team or author’s name

 Abstract

 Goals

 Innovation

 Potential for Commercialization

 Benefits for the society

 Conclusion

 Other information about product

2. The size of the poster must be A3 (325 x 487 mm)

3. One booth consist of one poster

4. Poster (softfile) must be submitted to email youngscientist.ub@gmail.com maximum 7
days (18th june 2019) before expo
