ABSTRACT
The consumption of natural sand in civil construction is one of the contributing factors
of environmental damage. Front of it, this paper evaluates the compressive strength
of mortars produced with binders: Portland cement (CPII-F32) and hydrated lime
(CH-III); water and fine aggregates: natural sand and fine fraction of the rock
crushing process in partial replacement of natural sand through two test methods.
Therefore, they analyzed the compressive strength of the mortar with predefined
features for nesting and masonry coating with partial substitution of the aggregate
stone dust in proportions of 0, 5, 10 and 15% by mass. The strength obtained for the
methods present values as the requirements for coating and laying mortar.
Therefore, with respect to compressive strength, it is considered feasible to use the
fine fraction crushing mortars.
