Hello,

In this blog I am going to explain about the command which is generally use in Staad pro called "Master slave".
This option is available to you in "Specification" tab followed by "node" option,

This is a master tools provided by the Bentley­Staad pro to account the stiffness of structural members. Actually
in Staad generally avoid providing slab in the forms of plates or surfaces because it will take long time to analyse
even a simple model.

Instead of using plates or surfaces in place of slabs we generally provided the calculative loads for the mass
matrix and to account stiffness we use master slave command. 

In this process a master node needs to be define about which the floor will be supposed to move in XZ direction
of staad or horizontal direction.

How to use master slave command in Staad??
To use this command you need to follow these steps­ 

Model your structure and give properties, loads supports etc.
Now find center of gravity of your model that will be your master node.
to  find cg go to staad editor and write "PRINT CG" after perform analysis and before finish
save and run analysis 
go to output file and you will get cg of your model 
Make a node of that co­ordinate(x and z ) irrespective of y­direction at each floor and that will be your master
node for particular floor
Number of floors =number of master nodes
Go to­­>specs­­>node(as shown in fig.1)
assign node no of master node and "slave directions ­ZX" add
assign nodes of respective floor to the master node and they will act as slave nodes.

This type of warning message appear in the results
**WARNING­ JOINT NO. 65 NOT CONNECTED. OK, IF PART OF MASTER/SLAVE. 
Is this warning means alot or no.....
can you please explain!!!

This warning occurs generally in case of master slave  
check if it's CG node then ok 
Either check it and join accordingly
