Level: 12th grade of high school Length: 30 Type of Lesson: Vocabulary
Class profile There are 20 students in the class. 5 students don’t have good enough background knowledge. Another
10 are students with good level of English and 5 others are intelligent ones with very good background
knowledge.
Aims Main: 1. Students should learn the new words of the lesson properly. 2. Students should be able to make
(objectives) example sentences for each word.

Outcomes for By the end of the class:


Students: 1. Students will be able to pronounce the newly learned vocabulary correctly.
2. Students will be able to write the newly learned vocabulary correctly.
3. Students will be able to utilize the newly learned vocabulary in their speech and make proper
sentences using them.
Materials Vision 3 student book, Photos, Questions.
Personal Improving students’ class participation and preparing a friendly atmosphere so that their learning be
Objectives enhanced and they can easily share their ideas and also their confidence will be improved.

Anticipated Problems: Anticipated Solutions:


1. Students may have problems 1. Teacher should try to transfer the meaning by explaining it in English and
demonstrating the meaning of the word, but if that and other methods didn’t work,
understanding the new vocabulary he can use Persian language to convey the meaning.
2. Students may be shy and frightened 2. Teacher should explain that making mistakes is an ordinary thing and classroom is
of making mistakes. a place for making mistakes and learning and also prevent humiliation.
Lesson Plan Procedure
Stage Time Procedure

Lead-in: Reviewing the previously taught lessons and talking about the topic of the lesson
(5 minutes)
which contains the new words.

Meaning: (7 minutes) Introducing the meaning of each word. And playing the audio part related to the
sentence of that word.

Repetition: (3 minutes) Repeating the new words that have been newly introduced.

Verification: (5 minutes) Asking questions to verify whether students have learned the vocabulary properly or
not.

Practice: (5 minutes) Asking students to make sentences with the newly learned words.

Production: Asking students to produce contents such as short stories using the newly learned
words.
Workbook (5 minutes)
Assigning students some tasks to help them master the new vocabulary.
