Module 1: Building Your Site
First things first: this is your site. Tailor your site to your personality and passion. You control the
message and the reach. Whether a photographer, visual artist, musician, writer, or model, your site
should showcase your work at its finest. Use the checklists and note sections from Module 1 to shape
the basic content: homepage, about page, contact page, cover page, and galleries. Checkboxes and
note sections are fillable; simply click to activate. Remember: your site is your space--give it the
necessary shape and feel that you think will optimize the way we view your work. You are the architect;
the tools and features suggested below should merely support the way you build.

Module 2: Blogging and SEO
Blogs can stimulate interest and traffic. Whereas your galleries feature the work itself, your blog
provides a space for you to elaborate on the stories behind the work. Below, you will find a variety of
suggestions for blog posts, including “Photo of the Day,” “Top 10 Lists,” “Customer Testimonials,” and
reviews. Obviously, you will craft and choose blog posts that best fit the intent of your site, and even
though publishing a variety of posts can be useful, consistency is also key. Module 2 also features a
space for you to brainstorm tags for your posts. Stay up to date, stay consistent, and you will start to
see the world of your web page deepen and grow.

Module 3: Marketing and Branding
Marketing and branding is paramount to your site, whether you’re a full-time professional, a
videographer, a musician, or even hobbyist. You wouldn’t build a site if you didn’t want people to see it.
Marketing and branding consists of everything from logo design to color scheme to your social media
presence, all of which rely on legibility. Legibility equals memorability, and in this section, you will find
suggestions for cultivating a clean, intelligible look for your site.
