Ma'am) So therefore, show me that you are ready, I want you to sit up straight and pay
attention.
I have here strips of colored papers kindly get one and pass, just keep it because later on we
will use that in our activity for today.
A. Engage:
(Motivation) Before we proceed to our new lesson first I want a volunteer to come here in front.
(A volunteer raises hand) (the teacher will place the volunteer on her right side while the plant
she bring will be placed on her left side). Now class, what do I have here on my right side?
(Human, Man) how about on my left side? ( a plant ma'am). As we all know, humans has body
parts right? (Yes, Ma'am) the external and internal body parts. What are our external body parts?
(Eyes, ears, nose, hands, mouth etc.) How about internal body parts? (Lungs, heart, liver, gal
bladder etc.) Okay, very good. Humans and animals has almost the same body parts but it may
vary with certain animals. Now in plants, what are the parts of the plant? (Stem, root, leaves etc.)
Very Good. Plants, animals and humans are all living things right?(Yes, ma'am) But class, even
though they are living things they have different body parts though not so with animals because
some of their parts are the same with human, unlike plants, because plants has its own parts
with certain functions for it to survive. But, there is one part that are common on plants, human
and animals. What do you think is that? Who can guess? (A cell ma'am) Yes, excellent, all living
things are composed of cells. What is a cell, by the way? (A cell is the basic unit of life or what
we call the building blocks of life) Yes, very good. A cell is very important in the nutrient uptake,
reproduction, growth, waste removal and reacting to external changes. And a cell has also its
parts with specific functions. That is our lesson for today about cell organelles and its functions,
difference between plant and animal cells and the importance of cells on living things.
