mid-2018 . This is my writing on why and how one should
write.

Why One Should Write
Not much time has passed since I have started writing, and it is from that time
I have loved it. Why? There are many reasons to it.

Writing helps us express our thoughts in the best possible way. Writing is a
good mode of interaction between the author and the reader. By writing, the
author can share his views on whatever moved him, and change the mindsets
of many of his readers.

Writing is also a good way of recording one’s ideas. If you have an idea in your
mind, and write it, your idea gets recorded. It is this great mode of recording
that helps us read now what great authors such as Jules Verne or Charles
Dickens wrote long ago.
The most important thing writing helps us do, is to observe our
thoughts, because writing is nothing but a way to transform your
thoughts into words. So, the more you write and turn your thoughts
into words, the more you get to know about how and what you think.

So, as you can understand, writing has a lot of benefits. Now, the
answer to ‘why one should write?’ is known to everybody. Then comes
another question, ‘how should one write?’ In this case, the ‘how’ is
more important than the ‘why’. The reason to that is, even though one
knows why he should write, but is not skilled at writing, how will he be
able to make an impact on his surrounding through his writings?
How One Should Write
The ‘how’ can change depending on the kind of writing one writes. If you want to
write a message to children, your writing must include humour, so that it doesn’t
end up being boring. If you want to write an article on smartphone addiction, you
firstly have to do a good analysis of smartphone addiction, and also write it in a
hard-hitting way. However, there are a few things which should be common to all
good writings. I have failed many times while trying to write something of great
quality, and it was due to the lack of these components:

Good Writing Style -: This is something that is needed the most to write a great
writing. There are many who inherently have a good writing style. However, there
are a lot who don’t have this natural talent. So, I would recommend them to read
more books, analyse the style of writing of great authors and practice writing on a
daily basis.
Persuasive Writing -: Most writings are written to persuade its audience and
change people’s minds. And for those kind of writings, the writing style has to be
very persuasive and hard-hitting. If one wants to improve the persuasion in his
writings, he can read and analyse articles by persuasive writers such as Rolf Dobelli
or Tim Urban.
Personal Experience -: This is another factor which will help make
one’s writings better. For example, if one wants to write about the ills of
Bollywood, it’s always better if he watches a Bollywood movie himself
and judge it accordingly. Similarly, if one wants to write about fake
patriotism, talking to a patriotic person and analyzing his reactions can
help make the writing better.
Sarcasm -: The main purpose of writing is to change minds. However,
if a writing is not interesting enough for readers to enjoy it, nobody will
like to read it, which will result in changing very less (or no) minds. So,
to make your writing more interesting and enjoyable, you need to put in
sarcasm and humour in it. (However, don’t forget that the humour
should be clever)
So, if you have got to know the
answers to both ‘why’ and ‘how’ you
should write, why should you wait?
