Results: The universal component of Caesarean section precaution in the surgical room is expected to
reduce the risk of pathogens transmission through blood and other body fluids. Some research show that
knowledge and practice of the application of universal precaution are inadequate and the practice of
universal precaution is bad. Moreover, the knowledge of nurses in the implementation of universal
precaution is good, but in practice, there are still some obstacles. Training for health workers is needed to
encourage compliance with practices based on increased knowledge.
Conclusions: The implementation of Universal Precaution is important to improve prevention and control
program in the operating room. Knowledge about infection prevention is very important for surgical staff,
nurses and other health facilities.
