The Five Key Elements

of Survival & Life

Food First Aid

Water
Shelter Fire
Water
On average, we can live three days
without water, versus three weeks without
food.
Water
Over 3/4ers of our body is
composed of fluid.
Just by passive existing we
lose almost a half gallon per
day. That goes up drastically
if we are active.
Thus we need at least one
gallon of water per day.
Water
The quickest and most effective
emergency preparation we can do is
stock water.
Have a minimum one case of 500ml
bottles per person (three days worth).
I recommended it be 2 cases.
Do it now!
Food

We can survive three weeks

without food.
But it isn’t fun.
Food
Store enough food for one month
for every person in the household.

Fire
In our normal civilized world, fire is almost
considered a luxury for those who might have a
fireplace in their house, but you have to realize
that fire actually affects a lot of your day-to-day
life.
Fire
We rely on fire for heat, for cooking, for
signaling.
The ability to make fire is one of the
essentials of human survival.
The ability to put out a fire is of more
immediate importance in our homes and work.
Shelter
We can survive for three hours in extreme
weather without shelter or fire before our
body temperature becomes unregulated.
First Aid

The Essential Triage of First Aid

1.Breathing
2.Bleeding
3.Broken
First Aid
A basic emergency first aid kit is one of the
essentials of home preparation.
The Five Essential Elements
of Survival

If disaster struck, whom would you want at your side,

helping you? A doctor? Lawyer? Policeman? Teacher?
While they all have unique skills, I submit that the
overwhelming choice would be a Special Forces Green
Beret.
The Five Essential Elements
of Survival
This was just a brief over-view. All five areas are
covered in depth in Prepare Now, Survive Later.
Also covered are ways to prepare for all five along with
checklists.

The book on the left is how you prepare NOW.
The book on the right, is your guide to surviving an
emergency or catastrophe given you’ve prepared.

Book
I highly recommend getting at least one print copy of the
survival manual. During an emergency you can’t count
on an eBook. It’s pocket-sized— shown next to my
trusty, old Ranger Handbook. I keep one in the glove
compartment of each car, in every Grab-n-Go bag and
also give them as gifts— the gift of life. Click on image
