 Perform Task Risk Analysis (TRA).

 Pre job briefing held with all personnel involved in the operations.
 Two competent Production Technician.

5. Special Equipment’s / Tools / Material Required

 Full PPE
 Drum pump
 Sodium Hypochlorite 10% concentration (25 liters drum)
 Chemical resistant glove (nitril glove)
 Respiratory protection

6. Overview
To prevent marine growth in seawater, seawater heat exchangers, firewater caissons, and service water caissons,
occasional manual shock dosing of sodium hypochlorite into the pump caissons is required. Sodium hypochlorite
10% in concentration is manually dosed into the funnel using drum pump. This process is carried out on a weekly
basis in the firewater caissons during the firewater pump test runs.
On the seawater and service water system manual dosing should be carried out weekly on the running pump. If
hypochlorinator package is down for maintenance / repairs, the dosing can be carried out daily on the running pump
to minimize buildup of marine growth.
