INTRODUCTION
Everybody looks at the world from his or her point of view so to
somebody else your beliefs are just a set of ideas, an ideology, a doctrine
which can be criticized. Because someone respects your beliefs or ideas
doesn‟t necessarily mean he or she shouldn‟t ever disagree or criticize
them. People have the right to criticize, denounce or hate them like any
other set of ideas, ideologies or doctrine without being arrested or
accused of hatred, phobia, bigotry and the like. Anyone who wants a
discussion shouldn‟t classify the opinions of their opponents as racists,
phobias, bigotry, lies, out of context, and other buzzwords but should
rather take it on with reason, evidence, facts with detail and logic
especially academia. We all have opinions but then, there is evidence.
When the facts are shown and when consistency is shown, then things
become valid, but if an objection against something or someone is just
based on an opinion then it‟s really just that - an opinion. A friend of mine
once said "if you can‟t sit calmly for your ideas or doctrine to be criticized
then you have an emotional problem." For peace to prevail, you must be
tolerant of the views or opinions of others because, you don‟t expect
everyone in this world to think like you do, do you? Even if you don‟t
agree with someone‟s view, you have to recognize the right for them to
express their views. Freedom goes both ways and it‟s not only good
when it serves you. Because of freedom of speech, we live in a world
where the tweets of President Donald Trump to anything else you can
think of is criticized publicly, even on internationally acclaimed media
platforms like CNN. Oh my gosh! Where can we go, to run away from
criticism? Pluto? Then I'm getting out of here!

To criticize a person for their race is manifestly irrational and ridiculous,

but to criticize their religion, that is a right. That is freedom. The
freedom to criticize ideas-even if they are sincerely held beliefs- is one of
the fundamental freedoms of society. A law which attempts to say you can
criticize and ridicule ideas as long as they are not religious ideas is a very
peculiar law indeed. ~Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean)

Due to this there is a need for apologetics. It is sad that many people view
apologetics in ministry as Ctrl+Alt+Del on a computer, those you always
call only when you have a problem. Au contraire, we live in a world
where apologetics is unavoidable and everybody practices it whether they
realize it or not. The only problem is that most of it is bad apologetics.
Those who might think otherwise might say “There is no need for
apologetics!” Ouch! But if I may ask “Why do you say so?” As soon as
someone answers that, he is doing apologetics. So it‟s not a matter of
simply choosing to not engage in apologetics, because every area of our
lives always comes back to it. Rather it is a question of how do we get a
better mindset about this.
What does apologetics mean? Glad you asked. The word "Apologetics"
comes from a Greek word "apologia", It means "verbal defense" . It is
used eight times in the New Testament.

"...but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a
defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet
with gentleness and reverence," (1 Peter 3:15).

The Bible commands every Christian to be ready to make a defense of his

faith. That means you are called to give reasonable answers to questions
regarding Christianity. Now, this does not mean that you must have a
Ph.D., or that you have to go to seminary. However, it does mean that
you should be willing to at least give an answer for your beliefs. The only
way to do this effectively is to study the reasons why you believe what
you believe. There is a saying that goes, “If someone can talk you into
Christianity, then someone else can talk you out.” Christians who cannot
present a biblically clear explanation of their faith will be insecure when
strongly challenged by unbelievers. I‟m telling you if you don‟t study
your Bible, they will push you to a corner and drop it like it‟s hot till you
scream mamma-mia mamma-mia! In some cases that insecurity can
undermine your assurance of salvation and consequently lead to your
apostasy. Therefore, Christian apologetics is that branch of Christianity
that deals with answering any and all critics who oppose or question the
revelation of God in Christ and the Bible. In 2 Cor. 10:5 ESV, the Bible
says we are to: "destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised
against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to
obey Christ.” The apologist can and should defend his reasons for
believing (1 Peter 3:15) and also bring every argument, imagination,
opinion or thought that opposes Christ to the knowledge of Christ. (2
Corinthians 10:5).

None of this is to say that apologetics alone, apart from the influence of
the Holy Spirit, can bring someone to saving faith. This creates a false
dilemma in the minds of many. Apologetics answers questions in people‟s
mind hence building a bridge by which we can better present the truth of
God‟s Word. Apologetics is to remove doubts and convince a man (Acts
18:28, Luke 24:27, Acts 17:16-17 and Acts 19:8) while the Holy Spirit is
to convict a man of truth (Acts 2:37). Paul quoted pagan unbelievers in
the New Testament. He quoted them here and there to aid in defending
and spreading the gospel. But, in order for him to do this, he would have
had to study their teachings. If Paul could do it, so can we as long as we
are putting quotes in the proper context either exposing error (Ephesians
5:11) and or building a bridge by which we might better present the truth
of God's word.

God uses several ways to win people to Him. With some people God uses
trials; some an emotional experience; some reason or apologetics, some
the Christ-like life of a believer (Matt 5:16). We, however, are
commanded to use apologetics in as many or more places as we are told
to preach the gospel. “For he[Apollos] mightily convinced the Jews, and that
publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.” Acts 18:28. What
Apollos did, was it necessary at all? You tell me!

I am set for the defense of the gospel. (Philippians 1:17b)

God doesn‟t need defending but man needs understanding.

JESUS AS GOD IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

Both Muslims and Christians believe in prophecies and also believe that
Jesus is the Messiah (Surah 3:45, 4:171, John 1:41, 4:25-26). There is a
little difference between them though in the way they view the Messiah.
Why do the Christians view the Messiah as God? Is it based on
unscriptural ideas, castles out of thin air? Let‟s then examine some
Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament, shall we?;

1. In Zechariah 2:8-10 NKJV [emphasis made] “For thus says the LORD
of hosts: . . . . . the LORD of hosts has sent Me. Sing and rejoice,
O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in
your midst," says the LORD.
It is evident here that the LORD of hosts is sent by the LORD of hosts.
This becomes clearer in the light of John 1:1-14 NKJV [emphasis made]
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through
Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. And the Word
became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the
glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

For the Word to be used for creation implies He existed before creation
and is the Creator. Note that the Bible didn‟t say the Word was flesh but
rather, the Word became flesh implying that the Word had pre-existence,
agreeably to John 1:1. I love John so much because of his choice of words!
He said in John 1:1 ….and the Word was God because now the Word is
the Godman as vs. 14 puts it. Remember, when John was writing the
gospel at that time, the Word had already become flesh as Jesus, died in
the flesh for our sins, resurrected and ascended back to God, the Father in
heaven.

Now, we know that this Word who became flesh and dwelt among us is
Jesus, since He was the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and
truth. Okay, moving on from there. The Greek word for „dwelt‟ as used
here is „skeno‟ which means „tabernacled‟. In other words, the Word
tabernacled amongst us. This is an allusion to Exodus 40:34-35 “Then the
cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled
the tabernacle. .” So John also said “And the Word became flesh and
dwelt (tabernacled) among us, and we beheld His glory.” This makes
a representation that the body of Jesus is the Temple or Tabernacle of
God.

So Jesus knew and understood that His body was the living temple of
God that‟s why He said in John 2:19-22 “Destroy this temple, and in three
days I will raise it up." Then the Jews said, "It has taken forty-six years to build
this temple, and will You raise it up in three days? But He was speaking of the
temple of His body.”

2. In Zechariah 12:4-10 emphasis made “In that day,” says the LORD, "I
will strike every horse with confusion……… And I will pour on the house
of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and
supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced, and they
shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in
bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”
Firstly, the Lord says they will pierce Him and look upon Him whom
they pierced. The Hebrew word used for pierce here is “daqar” which
means “to pierce through, to thrust through [as with a spear, javelin, etc.]” It
was used in Num 25:7-8, when Phinehas the son of Eleazar thrust a javelin
through a man of Israel and a woman and Judges 9:54 when the
armorbearer of Abimelech thrust him through with a sword.

So understanding this, John wrote in John 19:33-37 that the piercing of

Jesus on the cross fulfilled Zechariah 12:10. In Hebraisms, beating of the
breasts is a sign of mourning or sorrow as in Isaiah 32:12 Compare KJV,
NKJV and NLT. According to Luke 23:47-48, when the people saw what
was done, mourned for Jesus, the Firstborn Son of God, by smiting their
breasts, in fulfillment of the same scripture, Zech 12:10.

3. Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among
the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be
Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From
everlasting.”

Also in Psalms 90:2 “Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You
had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You
are God” It is only God who is from everlasting to everlasting so this
Messiah is actually God.

4. In Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the
government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
This prophecy of the birth of the Messiah proves that He is God.

I AM, the name of the God of Moses as used in Exo 3:13-14, means Self-
Existing One or Eternal One. He is from everlasting to everlasting
(Micah 5:2). He has neither past nor future but is the Present One, the I
AM. God said to Moses “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM
has sent me to you.”
So in 1st and 2nd prophecy I quoted, it was the Word, the LORD of Hosts,
speaking.

Joshua, if the Word who became flesh as Jesus is God then He should
have no beginning nor end, so can you show me where He is in Genesis
chapter 1? Sure, I can!
In Colossians 1:15-19 of the Greek Transliterated English Bible, ABP,
Paul talking about Jesus said, “ [He] is the image of the unseen God,
first-born of all creation; for in Him were created the whole, the things in the
heavens, and the things upon the earth -- the visible and the unseen; whether
thrones, whether lordships, whether sovereignties, whether authorities; the whole
through him and in him have been created.”

Going to read Genesis 1:1, the Bible says “In the beginning, God created
the heavens and the earth.”

So from these two verses, Jesus Christ, is the Beginning in whom God
created the heavens and the earth. You see! So Genesis 1:1 talks about
“the Beginning” of creation who is the person Jesus Christ and John 1:1
talks about the beginning of Beginnings. This is further confirmed in Rev
3:14, “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, 'These things says
the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:”
Hence Jesus Christ is the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, “the
Beginning” of the creation of God. This means that He is the originator
and instrument for creation. Now, in Rev 22:13, Jesus said, "I am the Alpha
and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.". So Jesus,
who is God, is the Beginning and the End.
Any truth seen in the first chapter of Genesis and seen again in the
last chapter of Revelation means that truth is eternal.
Hallelujah.

A PROPHET LIKE MOSES

Deut 18:15-19 (NKJV)
15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your
midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, 16 according to all you desired
of the Lord your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let me not
hear again the voice of the Lord my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore,
lest I die.' 17 "And the Lord said to me: 'What they have spoken is good. 18 I
will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put
My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.
19 'And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My
name, I will require it of him.
From this scripture, it is evident that Moses was speaking to the
Israelites since it was they who asked the Lord God in Horeb in the day
of assembly saying “Let not God speak with us, lest we die.” Exo 20:18-
19 and Deut 5:23-27.

After this prophecy was given by Moses to the Israelites, they were
awaiting the prophet spoken of by Moses. When John came baptizing ,
the Jews sent priests and Levites to ask John whether he was the Christ,
Elijah or the prophet like Moses and he replied „No‟ i.e. (John 1:19-28).
Jesus testified of Himself as a prophet in Luke 4:14-30, Matt 13:53-57,
Mark 6:1-6, Luke 13:31-35 and John 4:15-45. Several others called Jesus,
a prophet as in Matt 21:11; Luke 7:16, 39; Luke 24:13-19 and John 9:17.
Jesus told the Jews in John 5:45-47 that Moses wrote concerning Him.
Where in the books of Moses was Jesus referring to at all? Hhhmmm, I
wonder! In John 1:45, Philip testified that JESUS was the prophet Moses
wrote about i.e. in Deut. 18:15-18. Also in John 6:11-14, the Jews, i.e. the
men, after they saw the sign Jesus did said that, of truth JESUS is the
prophet spoken of by Moses. Peter in Acts 3:22-26 identified JESUS as
the prophet like Moses God raised up.

Now let‟s see how God raised up Jesus like Moses, shall we? ;
1. I will raise up for them a Prophet like you. God said specifically that He,
God, was going to raise the prophet like Moses. He wasn‟t going to
leave it to Moses to raise that prophet lest that prophet will be a
disciple of Moses.

2. Concerning the prophet like Moses, God said, “from your midst,
from your brethren.”. “Brethren” as used by God or Moses here is
referring to the Israelites, .i.e. a Jew, and not the Ishmaelites. In the
earlier verses of Deuteronomy 18, God commanded Moses to speak
to the Israelites saying 1 "The priests, the Levites-all the tribe of Levi-
shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the offerings of
the LORD made by fire, and His portion. 2 "Therefore they shall have no
inheritance among their brethren; the LORD is their inheritance, as He
said to them.” In Judges 20:13, brethren is used of as the children of
Israel; "Now therefore, deliver up the men, the perverted men who are in
Gibeah, that we may put them to death and remove the evil from Israel!" But
the children of Benjamin would not listen to the voice of their brethren, the
children of Israel”.
Hence from your brethren means the prophet will be a Jew. Jesus was
born a Jew, from the descendants of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of
Abraham, (Luke 3:34, Matt 1:1-16 and Luke 3:23-38). Hence
concerning the prophet like Moses, God said “from your midst, from
your brethren.” Both Moses and Jesus were Jews i.e. (Exo 2:1-2, Matt
1:1-16, Heb 7:14).
Ishmael was the half-brother of Isaac, who was born of Hagar to
Abraham. The Arab race descends from Ishmael. Technically,
although the Israelite nation is descended from Isaac, the name Israel
was applied to Jacob, not Isaac. So Israel i.e. Jacob and Ishmael are
not related as brothers but rather as uncle and nephew. Hence we
make a great error when we say the children of Jacob or Isaac
are the BRETHREN of the children of Ishmael.

3. Concerning the prophet like Moses, God said “I will put My words in
His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.”. It is
evident from the New Testament that, the Samaritan woman knew
that the Messiah was the accredited interpretation to fulfill this
prophecy so she told Jesus that, the Messiah was to tell them all
things. Jesus then proceeded to confirm her statement by saying “I
am he”. (John 4:25-26). Stephen in Acts 7:37-38 declared Jesus was the
promised Messiah spoken of by Moses. Hence the Messiah was the
Prophet God will raise up like Moses. JESUS said “For I have not
spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a
command, what I should say and what I should speak.” (John
12:49-50, 8:28, 17:7-8, 14:24,31, 15:10, 7:16, Matt 17:5, John 3:34).
So both were authoritative spokesmen for God, not angels.

4. Concerning the prophet like Moses, God said „And it shall be that
whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will
require it of him‟. In order words, if you accept Him you accept God
and if you reject Him you reject God. Does not this terrify you? We
shake in our pants when some hoodlums threaten us yet we have no
fear of God‟s warning! In John 12:48, Jesus said “He who rejects Me,
and does not receive My words, has that which judges him--the word that I
have spoken will judge him in the last day.” (John 12:46-50). See how this
prophecy fits Jesus like a hand and glove!

5. “Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had
laid his hands on him; so the children of Israel heeded him, and did as the
LORD had commanded Moses. But since then there has not arisen in Israel
a prophet like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, in all the signs and
wonders which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt, before
Pharaoh, before all his servants, and in all his land,” (Deuteronomy 34:9-
11). According to this, to be a prophet like Moses is to know God face
to face and to perform many signs and wonders. Keep in mind this
text explicitly mentions Joshua and says afterward that no prophet
has risen in Israel like Moses. This is not to deny that Joshua could
have been considered a prophet but that he is not the prophet Moses
spoke of since he did not know God face to face. Do we have any
evidence of other prophets receiving their messages the way Moses
did? If we do, let it be presented. We regularly see dreams and
visions taking place in the Old Testament with prophets, but we have
no record of the cloud descending on prophets or of them being
radiant with glory. God spoke to both Moses and Jesus face to face
through a cloud that their face shone as they communed with God.
Moses on Mount Sinai (Exo 33:9-11, 34:29-35, Num 12:6-8), and
JESUS on Mount of Transfiguration. (Matt 17:1-9). Here, even
Moses appeared and spoke to Jesus in a vision. Mohammed also
didn‟t know Allah face to face according to Surah 42:51, “It is not
fitting for a man that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration of
from behind a veil or by the sending of a Messenger to reveal with Allah‟s
permission what Allah wills: for He is Most High Most Wise”.

6. Both Moses and Jesus performed many signs and wonders (Exo 4:21-
28, Deut 34:10-12, John 20:30, John 21:25, John 12:37). The first
miracle Moses did was to turn water to blood (Exo 7:19-2). The first
miracle JESUS did while on earth was to change water to wine. (John
2:6-9). On the other hand, Mohammed did not perform many signs
and wonders according to the Quran. In Surah 28:48, the people
asked Mohammed, “Why are not (Signs) sent to him like those which were
sent to Moses?” Mohammed replied, “Do they not then reject (the Signs)
which were formerly sent to Moses?” In other words, there is no reason
for me to do the signs like Moses because they rejected the signs of
Moses. Also in Surah 29:49-51, it says “Nay; rather it is signs, clear
signs in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge; and none denies
Our signs but the evildoers. They say, 'Why have signs not been sent down
upon him from his Lord?' Say: 'The signs are only with God, and I am only
a plain warner. What, is it not SUFFICIENT FOR THEM that We have
sent down upon thee the Book that is recited to them? Surely in that is a
mercy, and a reminder to a people who believe.” but isn‟t the Quran sufficient
for them.” Surah 29:49-51 expressly states that the Quran is sufficient
as a sign, which means that no other sign or miracle was necessary.
Thus, this Surah shows that if Muhammad did perform many other
signs and miracles then this means that the Quran is not sufficient.
Here, Mohammed admits he didn‟t perform any other sign, let alone
many signs like Moses.
So we see that Jesus was an authoritative Jewish Prophet, check. He knew
God face to face, check. And also He performed many signs and wonders,
check, check, check - checkmate.

Question: How can Jesus be both God and prophet of God at the
same time? It is because He is fully God and fully man at the same
time i.e. Godman. Hence as man, He is the prophet like Moses.

IS ALLAH, THE GOD OF THE QURAN,

YAHWEH, THE GOD OF THE BIBLE?
To begin with, God is not a name, it is simply a general title given to any
object of worship. That title of position is a “what” but the person who
fills that position is a “who”. It‟s like people running for the position of
president. President is the title of a position but it is a unique person who
fills that position. Also just because every country serves one president
doesn‟t mean all countries serve the same president.

Similarly, Muslims and Christians believe in the same what? A God who
is the creator of the universe, administers and judges the people of the
universe. Muslims believe this God is Allah as is revealed in the Quran
while Christians believe this God is Yahweh as revealed in the Bible. In
order to know who Yahweh is or is not, we will have to look in the Bible.
In the same vein, in order to know who Allah is or is not, we will have to
look in the Quran. In the light of this let‟s delve into the Quran and the
Bible.

A vital difference between the Islamic and Christian views of God is their
concept of God. God is looked upon in the Bible as three persons who are
one in essence and purpose, that is, God is a Trinity while Allah is looked
upon in the Quran as being one person and alone in His being, not a
Trinity. Wait a minute!, someone might say, “Maybe Allah is the same as
God the Father.” Let‟s look at the fact then to see if this is true,
To begin with, in Surah 6:101, Allah clearly says that How can there be
a son for Him, when He has no consort? And in Surah 19: 93 There is
none in the heavens and the earth but cometh unto Allah as a slave.
Also Surah 9:30 says Allah (himself) fighteth against Jews and
Christians. How perverse are they! while Yusif Ali‟s Translation says
Allah‟s curse be on Jews and Christians.

“Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in
His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the
ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name, if you know?”
Proverbs 30:4

But the LORD God of the Bible says,

• In Exo 4:21-22 and Deut 32:6 that, Israel is His son. This God when
speaking to Moses in the earlier chapter i.e. Exo 3:4-6, identified Himself
as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and God cannot lie. This God
chose the nation Israel i.e. the Jews as His son.
• In Luke 3:38 Adam is the son of God because he was created
without an earthly father.
• In Matt 3:16-17 During the baptism of Jesus, God said this is my
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
• In Rom 8:14-16, Gal 4:4-6, John 1:12-13; 1 John 3:1-2. Christians are
sons of God by the Spirit of adoption

Hence we see here that from the creation of Adam till now, the Yahweh
of the Bible had sons which included the Jews and Christians but in Surah
5:18, the Quran says The Jews and the Christians are not the sons of
Allah but are human beings like many of His creation. The Allah of
the Quran is a father to no one and says that, the Jews and Christians are
not his sons neither does he have sons at all hence God, the Father isn‟t
Allah according to the Bible and Quran. Furthermore, we read in 1 John
2:22-23, "Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is
Antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the
Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has
the Father also." Thus, to the Christians Allah cannot be the biblical God
since the inspired New Testament record teaches that anyone denying
the Father and Son as God is Antichrist. It means the spirit that revealed
the Quran to Mohammed is the Antichrist according to the Bible.

Before Jesus came to the world, no one had ever claimed to be the Son of
God. According to Jewish thought, to call yourself the Son of God is to
say you are God. The term Son of God meant equality with God and this
idea was naturally suggested to the Jews by Jesus calling God His Father:
John 5:18, "But said also that God was his Father, making himself equal
with God." This idea Jesus immediately proceeded to confirm in John
10:29-36 when He said “do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified
and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the
Son of God?” It is evident from here that at some point in Jesus‟ life He
said, “I am the Son of God”, making Himself equal with God. Jesus said in
John 5: 21-23 "For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them,
even so the Son gives life to whom He will. For the Father judges no one,
but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son
just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not
honor the Father who sent Him.” Jesus said all should honor Him as they
honor God. How do you honor God if I may ask? You honor God by
worshiping, praising and praying to Him, don‟t you? My dear brother or
sister, Jesus is telling you to honor Him in the same way today!
Hallelujah! Here, Jesus is claiming equality with God.

In John 3:16, the bible says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.”(KJV)

The word “only begotten” is from the original Greek word “monogenes”.
It‟s from the words “mono” which means “only” and “genes” which means
“one of its kind”. So putting the words together “monogenes” means “one
and only” or “unique”. So the Bible is trying to say Jesus is the “one and
only” or “unique” Son of God. Let‟s look at how the International
Standard Version and New Living Translations put it.
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so
that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 NLT
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his uniquely existing Son
so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal
life. John 3:16 ISV

Do we find this word used elsewhere? (Thought you wouldn‟t ask) Yes,
we do. It is used in Hebrews 11:17-18 “By faith Abraham, when he was
tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up
his only begotten son, of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be
called,"”(KJV)

Here, the author is referring to Isaac as the only begotten son of

Abraham. Wait a minute! Abraham had a son before Isaac and had many
sons with Keturah after Isaac. So why is the author referring to Isaac as
the only begotten? It‟s because of the meaning of the word “monogenes”.
It means Isaac was the unique son, special son, promised son from God to
Abraham and Sarah.

So who is Jesus?
Jesus is the unique fully eternal divine Son of God distinct from God the
Father yet subject to God the Father as His Son.

Surah 112 AL-IKHLAS (The Purification of the Unity of God)

1. Say, „He is Allah, the One and Alone in His Being.
2. „Allah is that Supreme Being Who is the, Independent and Besought of
all and Unique in all His attributes.
3. „He begets none and is begotten by no one.
4. „And there is none His equal.‟

Psalm 2:7 "I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, You are My
Son, Today I have begotten You.”

Secondly, Surah112 fully describes the totality of Allah. Every Muslim

knows that any God who doesn‟t fit this description isn‟t Allah, so it is
clear as daylight in Chorkor that, Jesus isn‟t Allah because Jesus was
begotten. Also, in the verse 3, it says Allah begets none as also in
Quran18:4-5 but in Psalm 2:7 Yahweh, the God of David, had in mind to
beget a son oneday. Paul recognized this son as Jesus when he said in
Acts 13:33 referring to Psalm 2:7 that Jesus was that begotten Son of
God with power on the day of His resurrection as in Rom 1:3-4.

So from all these we have seen who Allah of the Quran is not. He is
certainly not the God of Moses, who is the God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob, the God of the Bible. To say these two are the same is to say God
is a schizophrenic since Yahweh of Moses said 1. He is a Father hence has
sons. 2. He begot a son Jesus when He raised Jesus from the dead but
Allah of the Quran said He is not a Father to anyone hence no sons and
He doesn‟t beget among many others. Let‟s find out who Allah then is
according to the Quran and the Bible;

Surah10:37 says The Quran is confirmation of all the previous Scriptures

before it .i.e. Torah, Psalms and Gospel. If Quran10:37 is true, then this
would be true as well:
 The 99 names of Allah: 62 ‫ ال مم يت‬Al-Mumit:
The Bringer of Death, The Destroyer
In the Bible, Satan is the Destroyer: 1 Corinthians 10:10
 The Quran calls Allah a makr. According to the Arabic
dictionary, Makr is the arabic word for deception. Surah 3:54 in
the Arabic will read “But they (the Jews) were deceptive, and Allah
was deceptive, for Allah is the best of deceivers.” In the Tafsir of Ibn
Kathir for Surah 3:54, it says Allah deceived the people.
"And the devil that deceived them" Revelation 20:10.

 One of the names given to Allah in Surah 59:23 is “ the Most

Proud” (al-mutakabbiru)
In the Bible, Lucifer (Satan) was cast out of heaven because of his
pride. (Isaiah 14:12-15, Ezekiel 28:13-19)
The Word Allah comes from the compound Arabic word “Al – ilah”. “Al”
= “the”, “Ilah” = “god” so Allah means “The god”. When a Muslim says
Allah, he is referring to the god as revealed in the Quran. When an
Arabian Christian says Allah, he is referring to the God as revealed in the
Bible however; he usually uses it in combination with the word al-Ab to
distinguish himself from Muslims. “Allah al-Ab” means “God the Father”.
So who Allah is with respect to the knowledge and revelation of the
person saying it is what matters, not just the word “Allah”.
Therefore I will conclude that, if the Quran is true, then Mohammed
didn‟t know the God of Moses who is the God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob, the God of the Bible. The Quran is the Word of Allah, so if Allah
of the Quran isn‟t God, then the Quran isn‟t the Word of God and
Mohammed isn‟t a prophet of God. Hence, he is a false prophet. This is
why Christians don‟t believe in Mohammed. From this, it is evident
where Muslims will be going to for eternity after death if we don‟t
evangelize to them. If you truly believe Christ is the only way to heaven
and you really love Muslims, you have to evangelize to them to save them
from eternal damnation in hell. The God of the Holy Bible gives an
assurance of salvation through Jesus Christ alone in John 3:16, “For God
so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever
believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”, something
which Allah never guarantees. The reason why Christ alone can promise
salvation is because he alone paid the penalty for sin which is death. By
his death on the cross Christ provided the only acceptable sacrifice to
God on behalf of sinners. It is therefore up to you to decide whether to
accept Jesus Christ as Yahweh's Son and receive the assurance of eternal
salvation. Or continue to worship Allah of the Quran who never promises
Muslims the joy of knowing that their sins have been forgiven which will
give them the assurance of eternal salvation. The choice is left for you to
decide.
ETERNAL LIFE
“Eternal life is to know the only true God and His Christ, Jesus
whom He has sent.” (John 17:3).
Okay, let me break this down for y‟all! Oh Yeah! “Know” as used here
refers to an intimate relationship as also used in Gen 4:1 “Now Adam
knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain , and said, "I have
acquired a man from the LORD." So eternal life is to have an intimate
relationship with the true God and His Christ, Jesus whom He has sent.
God the Father praises His Son by calling Him God, Lord, eternal King
and for being the Creator and Sustainer of all creation in Hebrews
chapter 1. But let me start quoting from verse 8;
"But about the Son He says, „Your throne, O God, will last for ever and
ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have
loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has
set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.‟ He
also says, „In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you
remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a
robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and
your years will never end.‟" Hebrews 1:8-12

The “He” as used here according to the context of the chapter is God the
Father. Now does this mean that the Father is not God, sovereign
Master, Lord, and the Creator of the heavens and the earth? The answer
is obvious. The Father, according to the Holy Bible, is just as much God,
Master, Lord, and just as responsible for creating and sustaining the
universe as the Son is. Look at it this way. Let‟s say you did something
very nice for me and I tell you out of excitement for what you have done,
“Herh! You are the only friend I have oo!” Does it necessarily mean I
don‟t have any other friends apart from you? No. It is just a statement of
praise. In a similar way, the Son glorifying or praising His Father as the
only true God doesn‟t mean that Christ was denying that He is God as
well. Look at these scriptures;
“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an
understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him
who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal
life.” 1 John 5:20

“For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had

to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true
God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the
dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.” (1
Thessalonians 1:9-10)

From here we know the Bible is talking of God the Father as the true
God since the Bible continued to speak of the true God‟s Son, Jesus. It
follows from 1 John 5: 20 and 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 that, God, the
Father and the Son is the true God. Jesus usually spoke in the third
person. So in 1 John 17:3, when Jesus was glorifying or praising the
Father, He said, “Eternal life is to know the only true God and His Christ,
Jesus whom He has sent.” Voila! You just got served!

The only way to have eternal life is to believe in the true God, and that
Jesus is the Christ, whom He sent to redeem mankind by His blood (John
4:42, John 1:29 & 1 John2:2). This kind of belief, faith or trust in Jesus
Christ is the one that is only due God and not any mere creature. When
you believe in the Son of God and keep His Word, you have eternal life as
the scriptures say in John 20:31, John 3:16,18, John 6:40, John 5:24 and
John 8:51. In other words, Jesus is the way to the true God (John 14:6).
Jesus Christ is the One sent by the true God to reveal who the true God
is, to mankind. Jesus revealed this true God as God the Father, in John
8:54, 17:1-6 and 20:17 and God the Father referred to Jesus during His
baptism, as His beloved Son Matt 3:17, Mark 1:11 and Luke 9:35. To
believe in (the name of) Jesus Christ is to believe in the person and
authority of Jesus Christ according to the Gospel and history. It is to
believe in all that is revealed in the Gospel concerning Jesus Christ in
respect to His person, deity, offices and atoning work. When you believe
in His name or in Him, He will give you the power to become a child of
God as John 1:12-13 says.

Anyone who confesses with his mouth the Lord Jesus and believes in
his heart that God has raised Him from the dead has eternal life.
Rom 10:9

Do not worry about what your friends, mother, father, sisters or

brothers are going to say or do to you if you accept this truth. They
will not stand before God with you on Judgment day. That day
every soul will have enough concern only for itself. The choice is
yours. May the Almighty God open your eyes for the light of the
gospel of the glory of Christ to shine on you in Jesus Name. Amen.

What is your decision?
I choose to accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.
Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in
Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has
passed from death into life.” (John 5:24)

If you have chosen to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please pray
this with all your heart;
Lord Jesus, I believe You died on the cross for my sins and that You
were raised from the dead. I ask You to come into my heart. Take control
of my life and help me be what You want me to be. I repent of my sins
and surrender myself totally to you. I accept You and confess You as my
Lord and Savior. Thank you Father for adopting me as your child and
making me a new person in Jesus Name, Amen.

Welcome to God‟s family! Halleluyah!

I choose to reject Jesus and keep my way.

Jesus said “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which
judges him--the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.”
(John 12:48)
And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
