Hi Bobby007

During installation you have to select user defined installation (Please find the
attachment), then you have to follow

the link that umencho has given.

Bobby007 Hi,

Do I need Step 7 v5.4 SP4 to be able to install Component Object Manager or is

SP3 sufficient?
Right now I have SP3, I am installing WinCC V7.0 SP1, I just cannot find the
Component Object Manager package.
Thanks.

Romulus Hi

You should install Step 7 v5.4 SP4 see the attached compatibility list:
http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/21927773

Please have a look in WinCC Explorer > Help > WinCC Explorer Help
Here you see the installed SW and I think you see that the object manager is

installed.

naveen.siemens Hello
The recommended installation procedure is to start with Step 7, then install
WinCC on your PC.

But here is a document that shows how you can manually install the missing
components in your project:

Instructions

If WinCC has been installed before STEP 7 … then you must manually install the
AS-OS Engineering and Object Manager components.

Start the WinCC Setup. Select the Runtime Setup in Expert Mode (User-defined
Rating:
Installation > WinCC Expert > WinCC Runtime). For the components to be
(1) installed you need to select Object Manager.

Then it is possible to insert an existing WinCC project into the SIMATIC Manager

TomazO Hello,

Just as information it is possible to install "Object manager" later(it worked in my

case):
-->Windows "Control panel"
-->"Programs and features" or "Add or Remove Programs" (depends on windows
version)
-->SIMATIC WinCC Runtime - Right mouse click and select "Change"
Advanced Member
-->Select "Modify" and then you have option to install "Object manager"

Best regards, Tomaž!
