Literacy as the ability to read and write

Media Literacy is the ability to access, analyze, evaluate and create media in a variety of forms.
Definitions, however, evolve over time and a more robust definition is now needed to situate media
literacy in the context of its importance for the education of students in a 21st century media culture.
Information Literacy the ability to identify, find, evaluate, and use information effectively. From
effective search strategies to evaluation techniques, students learn how to evaluate the quality,
credibility, and validity of websites, and give proper credit. Information Literacy has also been referred
to as digital literacy or media literacy
Technological literacy is the ability to use, manage, understand, and assess technology.
Technological literacy is related to digital literacy in that when an individual is proficient in using
computers and other digital devices to access the Internet, digital literacy gives them the ability to use
the Internet to discover, review, evaluate, create, and use information via various digital platforms,
such as web browsers, databases, online journals, magazines, newspapers, blogs, and social media
sites.
