God Krishna – our Real Friend

Characteristics of a Friend
1. Always Helpful

As the English saying goes – “A friend in need is

a friend indeed “

Hence, Krishna also promises in Bhagavad Gita

9.22
ananyäç cintayanto mäà ye janäù
paryupäsate
teñäà nityäbhiyuktänäà yoga-kñemaà
vahämy aham

But those who always worship Me with exclusive

devotion, meditating on My transcendental form—to
them I carry what they lack, and I preserve what
they have.
Here, Krishna proves that he is our best friend
by declaring that I will provide all the necessities of
life, whatever required/needed, he mercifully supplies
everything, provided we becomw his Exclusive devotees.

2. Gives proper advice/council

Krishna says in BG 10.10

teñäà satata-yuktänäà bhajatäà préti-
pürvakam
 dadämi buddhi-yogaà taà yena mäm
upayänti te

To those who are constantly devoted to

serving Me with love, I give the
understanding by which they can come
to Me.

Intelligent human beings must

understand – What should be the goal
of life! Why we are created? What is
the purpose of our existence? As
Krishna has answered beautifully that
we are Meant for Enjoyment, Not
Independent of Krishna but WITH
KRISHNA.
Here, Krishna says, I give him the
Understanding,the Intelligence by
which he can Acquire myself.

3. Well wisher(suhrid)

bhoktäraà yajïa-tapasäà
sarva-loka-maheçvaram
suhådaà sarva-bhütänäà
jïätvä mäà çäntim åcchati BG 5.29
 A person in full consciousness of Me,
knowing Me to be the ultimate
beneficiary of all sacrifices and
austerities, the Supreme Lord of all
planets and demigods, and the
benefactor and well-wisher of all
living entities, attains peace from the
pangs of material miseries.
Krishna is well wisher of all living
entities and hence he helps us to get out
of all our sufferings/miseries. The
conditioned souls within the clutches of
the illusory energy are all anxious to
attain peace in the material world. But
they do not know the formula for peace,
which is explained in this part of the
Bhagavad-gétä.
4. Always with Us

éçvaraù sarva-bhütänäà
håd-deçe 'rjuna tiñöhati
bhrämayan sarva-bhütäni
yanträrüòhäni mäyayä

The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's

heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the
wanderings of all living entities, who are
seated as on a machine, made of the
material energy.
Krishna as Paramatma is always within our
heart, noting down our activities, our
desires, and he tries to give us
everything what we want.

Everything is God's property. We have got

right to use the God's property because we
are sons, but whatever He allows you, you
can take that. Don't think encroach on
another's property. This is krishna
consciousness philosophy, that you should
always understand that krishna is the real
bhoktä, or enjoyer. krishna is the
proprietor of all the lokas. krishna is the
real friend of everyone. We are seeking
friendship from so many persons to improve
our material condition, but you do not know
the real friend is within you. The real
friend is within everyone's heart—Krishna

The Supreme Personality of Godhead, or He

Himself, Kåñëa, as the localized Supersoul,
sits in the heart directing the living
being. After changing bodies, the living
entity forgets his past deeds, but the
Supersoul, as the knower of the past,
present and future, remains the witness of
all his activities. Therefore all the
activities of living entities are directed
by this Supersoul. The living entity gets
what he deserves and is carried by the
material body, which is created in the
 material energy under the direction of the
Supersoul. As soon as a living entity is
placed in a particular type of body, he has
to work under the spell of that bodily
situation. A person seated in a high-speed
motorcar goes faster than one seated in a
slower car, though the living entities, the
drivers, may be the same. Similarly, by the
order of the Supreme Soul, material nature
fashions a particular type of body to a
particular type of living entity so that he
may work according to his past desires.

5. Accepting(Non judegmental)

iti te jïänam äkhyätaà

guhyäd guhyataraà mayä
vimåçyaitad açeñeëa
yathecchasi tathä kuru BG18.63
Thus I have explained to you knowledge
still more confidential. Deliberate on
this fully, and then do what you wish
to do.

Even after speaking the whole bhagavad

gita to arjuna, Krishna never forces
Arjuna or anybody for that matter to do
what Krishna wants. He always gives us
our freedom of choice. We are free to
do everything we want, and Krishna will
accept.
The best advice imparted to Arjuna is
to surrender unto the Supersoul seated
within his heart. By right
discrimination, one should agree to act
according to the order of the
Supersoul. That will help one become
situated constantly in Kåñëa
consciousness, the highest perfectional
stage of human life. Arjuna is being
directly ordered by the Personality of
Godhead to fight. Surrender to the
Supreme Personality of Godhead is in
the best interest of the living
entities. It is not for the interest of
the Supreme. Before surrendering, one
is free to deliberate on this subject
as far as the intelligence goes; that
is the best way to accept the
instruction of the Supreme Personality
of Godhead. Such instruction comes also
through the spiritual master, the bona
fide representative of Kåñëa.
