Personal Statement

Music has enhanced every aspect of my life and it made me into the person who I
am today. It has given me a number of amazing experiences, travel opportunities
and the joy of meeting many interesting people and musicians.
Since I was incredibly young, music has been a big part of my everyday life.
Listening to music has sparked my passion and love for it. My early childhood
memories are of my father playing his cello or singing, while he accompanied
himself on the piano. He was a famous musician in our country and I was
privileged to hear him perform every day. He never actually gave me any lessons,
but I had great joy in playing with him.
Many members of my family are also involved in music. My mother is a violin
teacher, my aunt teaches singing and solfeggio and my sister studies piano in
Munich. They inspire me to be the best I can every day and give me plenty of
support.
I am very passionate about music. It is not just the question of playing though, as I
also love being on stage and even enjoy the spotlight to a certain extent. My goal
is not just to be an outstanding violinist, I also aspire to know music, to dive into
the ideas and thoughts of great composers, to explore all kinds of music and
evolve my musicianship. Music inspired me so much that I wish I could do
everything connected to it. I take some piano lessons, I try to sing as much as I can
and I even had a go at guitar. Of course violin was and still is my biggest love and I
spend most of my time with it.
I am incredibly grateful for what music has given me and where it has brought
me. I have attended many festivals, competitions, masterclasses, and performed
in many concerts.
Currently, because of my dedication to music, I am based in London, being
granted a scholarship from Whitgift School. They are incredibly involved in my
growth as a person and as a musician and do everything they can to support me.
When I came here they also suggested I should apply to the Junior Guildhall, and
from that moment on I go there every Saturday.
I have attended many competitions, and some that stand out are:
“Lutine Prize” in London, Great Britain, “Whitgift International Music
Competition” in London, Great Britain, “Premio Clivis” in Rome, Italy, “Citta di
Barletta” in Barletta, Italy, “Ohrid Pearls” in Ohrid, Macedonia, “Kocian” in Usti
nad Orlici, Czech Republic and various other competitions in surrounding
countries.
I also was very lucky to take part in many amazing festivals. I was incredibly happy
when passing an audition and joining the junior orchestra at the Verbier Festival
in Switzerland. Also, I was grateful to take part in the “International Festival of
Chamber Music” in Plovdiv, Bulgaria where we had a very successful concert.
Every year I also take part in the “Summer Camp for Chamber Music” in Cetinje,
Montenegro. Even though my country, Montenegro, does not have a broad
musical culture, it has a great number of amazing musicians and I will always be
proud to present it in its beauty.
I have been lucky to participate in a big number of concerts. I often play with
orchestras in my country, and I am lucky to be a guest in our Academy’s
Symphony Orchestra, very often playing solo with them or being a part of. I am
also very pleased to have had five solo recitals in my country which were very
successful and important to me.
I attended masterclasses with professors such as Roman Simovic, Mihail
Bereznitsky, Anton Martynov, Jaroslav Nadrazicky, Marko Simovic and many
others.
My dream is to become a soloist and play in top chamber ensembles. I also love
playing in the orchestra and will certainly audition for a position in one. My hobby
is soul, funk, jazz music and I think I will always have periods dedicated to it. I
aspire to be a successful and well known musician and performer, and to enjoy
my passion to the fullest.
