GENERAL REMINDERS

 Always prepare large plastic on prep cart for skin prep

 Always prepare sterile plastics for intraoperative x-ray
 If with use of ii, use mayo table cover (barrier) and Elastic Bandage 6" as ii
drape
 If with company, utilize additional big back table for company's trays and
instruments. Use 2 medium sheets as table drape
 If with use of pneumatic drill, use extra mayo table for the drill. Use extra
medium sheet to cover tank
 If with doctor's trays / instruments, use extra mayo table.
 For upper extremities, use 4" supplies (wadding sheet, elastic bandage,
scotch cast, etc), for hand surgeries use 2" / 3" / 4" supplies. For lower
extremities, use 6" supplies.
 All procedures with use of implants / prosthesis such as arthroplasty / joint
replacement, use double gloving technique. Use orthopaedics (Ansell)
gloves first, then triflex for second gloves after draping is done.
 For closed reduction procedures, always have a double set up for pinning.
 For pinning procedures, always have a double set up for "possible open"
 Never mix OR instruments with doctor's or company's instruments.
 Prepare all equipment / machines opposite of the surgical site. (Cautery,
Zimmer, etc)
 ii table's opening should be towards the opposite of the surgical site
