William Cameron, Chief Deputy RE: Notice of intent to Discipline (On 10/18/05, an internal investigation #05-10-054 was initiated and conducted by Sergeant Catherine ‘Swencki. This investigation revealed that you violated the following Charlotte County Sheriff's Office Policies and Procedures: Untruthfulness, CCSO Operations Manual G.O. #3.50 F. 4. d. 54) - Members of the Office will not make false or untrue statements except as authorized in the performance of duties and as necessary to maintain covert operations during investigation of criminal activities, Neglect of Duty (Loafing, inattention to Duties or Procedures, CCSO Operations Manual G.O. #3.50 F. 4 b. 15) Members of the Office will be attentive to job duties, will avoid any negligence in performing job duties and will avoid any appearance of loafing or neglecting work while on duty. You are hereby notified that itis the intent of the Sherif to suspend you without pay for 168 hours; you are to submit a formal written apology to your supervisor, you will be placed on a one year disciplinary probation and mandatory EAP referral to assist with your personal issues. You will be notified in writing of the effective date of discipline being imposed. You have the right to respond to the Sheriff's actions in this matter by providing, in writing to the Sheriff, any mitigating circumstances that he may consider before final discipline is imposed. If you wish to submit such, please do so no later than 1700 hours Friday, January 13, 2005.
