NARRATIVE REPORT ON JUNIORS’ NIGHT

February is the month that Dalig National High School students look
forward to with the holding of the traditional Junior-Senior Promenade. As part
of these most anticipated events, the school held its Juniors’ Night last February
15-16, 2019 at the Sports Hub of Antipolo City with the theme “Once Upon a
Time.”

The students arrived at the venue with their dashing fairytale-looks and
lavish attires to formally line up and register themselves at around 6:00 pm. When
almost all of the students had finally arrived, the program finally kicked-off at
around 8:30 pm. Mr. Kenneth De Leon and Ms. Arian Marie Soriano, Science
teachers, served as the hosts of the night.

The program started with an invocation given by Ms. Eden Aguirre

followed by the singing of the National Anthem conducted by Mr. Senen Birco,
MAPEH Teachers. Mrs. Maricel Cruz, the School Head, graced the program as
she delivered her opening remarks. Mr. Melacio Beraquit, the School Prefect of
Discipline, reminded the students about the House Rules to be followed during
the party.

The second part of the program concentrated on the symbolic turn-over

ceremony. Students from the grade 10 level handed over to the selected grade
9 students the respective responsibilities in the school. Leadership was
highlighted as Marjorie Intia of Grade 10 –Narra passed down the Key of
Responsibility to Chut Mia Virtucio of Grade 9 – Antipolo. Also, the fervor of
competence was rekindled as Gwen Ysabella Oregano of Grade 9- Antipolo
accepted wholeheartedly the Book of Knowledge.

Moreover, the program moved on the most solemn part of the program
which is the Candle Lighting Ceremony as they sang the prom’s theme song “I
See the Light” from the Disney movie Entangled which signified their hope
towards the fulfilment of their dreams. Ms. Laila Andal, a Grade 10 adviser,
advised the students to enjoy the night as she commemorates nostalgic high
school memories on her inspirational message. A glimpse of what may happen
on the next ten years was narrated by John Emil Gorgonia as he gave his
Prophecy among the students as well as the ‘Last Will’ which was given by Ma.
Angelica Coronado, Grade 10- Narra students. The program was even more
intensified when the selected students from Grade 9 and 10 rendered the most
anticipated Contillon De Honor choreographed by Ms. Lean Maglalang, ESP
teacher. The dinner was served at around 10:00 pm prepared by the Food Tech
Senior High School students of the school. Afterwards, the party began.
