Lesson Plan in Science (Grade 7)

I. Lesson Objectives
The learners should be able to:
1. Describe each step of a scientific investigation.
2. Perform in groups in guided investigations involving community-based problems using
locally available.
3. Solve their daily life problem using scientific method.
II. Learning Content
a. Topic : Scientific Methods

c. Methodology : Lecture Method and Demonstration
d. Concepts :
1. Scientific method is the basic steps that scientists follow in uncovering facts and
solving scientific problems
2. Observation is watching and noticing around
3. Question is a question problem that can be solved through an experimentation
4. Hypothesis is a prediction about what will happen with the experiment
5. Experimentation is organized process used to test a hypothesis
6. Analysis is a summary of the experiment’s results, and how those results match
up to your hypothesis.
7. Conclusion is the final result of the experiment
e. Skill : Students will be able to use the scientific method to solve problems and
collect data-based observations.
f. Value : Students will be able to use the scientific method to solve daily
problems.

III. Learning Procedure
a. Apperception/ Motivation
Teacher will ask the question: What are you thinking about how scientists discover new
knowledge and update their previous knowledge?. Scientists try to understand and
describe events and processes in nature through systematic investigation. The methods
scientists use during an investigation are called scientific method. And then teacher
show Fransesco Redi’s picture and his experiment.
b. Lesson Proper:
1. Ask student about what is scientific method and discuss it
2. Introduce 5 steps of scientific method and keep asking to make sure that they are
understand
3. Watch a video about using scientific method for solving problem
4. Give an example how to state question, hypothesis, experimentation, analysis, and
conclusion based on the video.
5. Do an experiment using scientific method.
6. Discuss the questions in the lab sheet
7. Accomodate students to make a conclusion for today lesson.
c. Generalization
Ask some students to share their own understanding of the lesson by giving a summary
