Explanations
This atlas is arranged in alphabetical order according to Latin names of pathologic processes. The Latin
names are printed in the upper margin of odd pages. Names of malignant or potentially malignant tumors
are printed in red. of benign tumors ir greerr and of the remaining disorders in black. Short description of
photomicrographs is provided on even pages facing the micrographs. Here the name of the disease is first
printed in Latin. below in Polish (bo|d) and fuńher below in English' Histologic type of a neoplasm is written
in italics. Synonyms are printed in italics and in brackets. At the end ofthe book there are indexes arranged
according to the name ofthe entity and organ involved as well as according to main chapters of pathology
i.e. circulatory disorders, degenerations and adaptative processes, inflammations and neoplasms.
Almost all specimens were hematoxylin and eosin stained. Some sections were treated with special
histochemical or immunohistochemical stains. Photomicrographs were taken using x 4, x lQ, x {Q, x IQQ
objectives.
