• The HTC is defined as

where
q”total = qrad + qconv

• By default Tref is the reference temperature from the Reference panel

• HTC is a field variable accessible through Surface Heat
Transfer Coe. under Wall Fluxes
• Options for Tref
¾ Tref is the local bulk temperature: Most “correct” approach,
but calculating bulk temperature is not straightforward for
complex geometry and UDF coding required
¾ Tref is fixed: Not correct everywhere
¾ Tref is adjacent cell temperature. It can be done using
Custom Field Function of:
(Total Heat Surface Heat Flux - Radiation Heat Flux)/
(Wall Temperature (Outer Surface) - Static Temperature)
and plotting without node values
