Social media Web sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and many others
have become nearly inescapable facets of modern life, particularly for teenagers.
Social media is becoming more than just a part of their world, it’s becoming their
world. Teens are spending more and more time online, usually on a social media
platform like Facebook or Twitter. Most teens now have smart phones where they
are on social media networks all throughout the day. They are constantly texting,
tweeting, and posting pictures via Snapchat and Instagram. However, hyper-
connected to social media could be bad for them.

Today teens don’t know how to disconnect. Social media has allowed them to take
their life online from the time they wake up till they back to sleep via their smart
phone. One reason this “always connected” activity is harmful is because of the
alarming trend of cyberbullying. Bullying has now moved from not only being in the
school and on the bus, but online. What does this mean? If a teen is getting bullied,
they cannot get away from it! The people bullying them simply continue their bullying
via social media

A new study has found that teenagers who engage with social media during the night
could be damaging their sleep and increasing their risk of anxiety and depression.
Teenagers spoke about the pressure they felt to make themselves available 24/7,
and the resulting anxiety if they did not respond immediately to texts or posts. Teens
are so emotionally invested in social media that a fifth of secondary school pupils will
wake up at night and log on, just to make sure they don’t miss out.

Another impact social media has had on teens is teens being more comfortable
online doing things that they should be more sensitive to doing. A separate study by
the National Citizen Service found that, rather than talking to their parents, girls seek
comfort on social media when they are worried. The survey also suggests that girls
are likely to experience stress more often than boys – an average of twice a week.

Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and many others are basically
created to connect everyone around the globe so they can interact and communicate
each other. However, too much exposure of social media can also be bad especially
for teenagers. As it mentioned above, social media could become media for bullying,
risk them of anxiety and depression, and risk their real-life social interaction.
Therefore, social media are dangerous for teenagers’ health both mentally and
emotionally.

Why is important to choose an accredited school? Well,

This label of Accredited School has an impact inemployment opportunities. As result,
if there are two or morestudents with similar qualifications, the student who comes
from the accredited school will have an edge over the other candidate. Student from
an accredited school has more open door than student with an accredited one.
Many students select certain school depending more on short term factors like
friend influence and short distance from home. It is not bad since commuting
actually needs much cost. Choosing school which is closer to home will save time,
energy and money. However if that school is not accredited, the time and money
spent along studying seems to be waste in the long term because it could become a
limiting factor in gaining future opportunities.

Corruption has happened for many years and today it becomes a bad culture in Indonesia for
three reasons

Argument 1:

Most adult Indonesian or foreigners have known and admitted that corruptions happen in
many places. The daily newspapers, news programs on TV and radio have reported
corruptions are done everywhere, almost in all departments or public services of this country.
Corruptions happen in health, education departments and banks. When we manage to get
some documents in public service offices, we usually need much money to pay.
Manipulations happen everywhere

Argument 2:

The actions to eliminate corruption are weak. The ever stronger culture seems not to come to
an end when the responsible institutions who have to reinforce the justice today commit
corruption. This is the worst. Corruptions happen in police department, courts where judges,
public prosecutors, lawyers make deals to do corruption. All of us also heard in the end of
2004, Probosutejo reported that he had bribed the Supreme Court, or called Mahkamah
Agung which becomes the highest level where the justice can be obtained. Perhaps you have
to try to come to the local courts and see what happen there. You will see practices of bribery
and other kinds of corruption. Therefore, we can say that corruptions becomes our culture.

Argument 3:

The citizens have no goodwill to fight against the corruption. They create the situations in
which people have opportunities to do corruptions. The citizens like to break the rules
because they are not disciplined. For example, in the street when they drive a car or ride
motorcycle, they do not have the driving license or necessary documents. Then, they are
caught by the local policemen. To avoid more difficulties, they like to bribe the officer. The
officer let them go then. In other words, the citizens and officers are the same, doing
corruption together. If only the people were critical, disciplined, and obey the rules, and
willing to report any wrong behaviors, this country will not be number one corrupting
country in the world.

Reiteration/ conclusion:

Conclusion Based on the reasons, we can conclude that corruption is becoming a bad culture
in Indonesia if it is not ended soon by all of us. It seems that there must be more severe
penalty for the Corruptors. Do we still care about the future of this country?
Seeking Job is Difficult, isn't?*

I think many people want to get a good job which they want. But they can not realize it. They
know that it is difficult to get it but the other people disagree with this argument. Some
people think there are mainly three things why seeking a job is difficult.

Firstly, people do not have high education. As they do not have high education, it is difficult
for them to get it. Besides, education may influence someone who seeks a job. Now in the
globalization era, without having high education, people can not find a good job. Take for
example in a big company. If we want to apply a job like a staff manager, we must fulfill all
general requirements such as you must be good at accounting, able to operate computer,
master foreign language especially English both spoken and written etc. Seeking a job is not
always difficult but it depends on people themselves. If they want to try, they will be success.

Secondly, people do not have skills. If they do not have skills, they will feel difficult to find a
good job. Some people think that if they want to be an employee, they must have skills. It is
not only enough skill but also high education. In a company, an employee must fulfill all
general requirements such as having good skill, high education and motivation, discipline etc.
Without having skills, it is impossible to be an employee. For example, most people in our
country, Indonesia, are jobless. It is caused by them who do not have skills and education.
They say that Indonesia government does not open job vacancies. but in fact, their arguments
are not true because in our country there are many job vacancies. If we can not get a job, we
will be left behind in the globalization era.

Thirdly, they do not have connection or network. It is rather difficult to get a job if we do not
have connection. Even though we have high education and skills, without having connection
or network, we will not get it. So connection or network is very important to help us to get a
job. Further, we can get it easily. For example, If we have friends and they work in a
company. They may be help us to apply in that company. They also give us more information
about the job. For example sometimes it needs new employee who can operate computer,
master English well and good at accounting. If we fulfill those requirements, we can be an
employee in that company. It is our golden chance to apply that job.

From the facts above, it is obvious that seeking a job is rather difficult if we do not have high
education, skills and connection or network.

 The Dangerous of Using Drugs
Everybody must pay attention of drugs. Drugs are very dangerous for us. Why
it is very dangerous for us? Because its can caused harm to our body.
In terms of health, many organs in our body can be harm because using drug.
In general, the impact of using drug are can unconscious, make us hallucinate, can
harm our nerve, and cause addictive effect. Beside that, using drugs can make the
users depressed, liver disease, schizophrenia, blockage of blood vessels, dehydration,
optic nerve damage, brain damage, and finally it can cause DEATH!
When viewed in terms of Islamic law, drugs are forbidden. Because it is cause
badness, self harm, debilitate. And Islam proscribes all that can cause badness, self
harm because it is included zhalim. Also if we using drugs, it means we already do
the forbidden things in Islam, it means we sin. So, in terms of Islamic law, using
drugs also dangerous.
Furthermore, if the users of drugs are teenagers, it can endanger their future,
and endanger their homeland, their country. From the data, 32 percent of drugs
users in Indonesia are teenagers, so, if many teenagers –in this case Indonesia- use
drugs, it can be endanger this country, harm youth generation, whereas youths are
nation expectation. If the youth using drugs, our nation can be destroy!
So, from now on we must pay attention of drugs, because it’s very dangerous,
both in terms of health, religion (Islam), nationality and state.

The Power of Music in our life

Do you agree that music is important in our life? Yes I do, music has certain role
completing our day to day activities. Here are some reasons why music is heard
everywhere andanywhere. Music is a way to express feelings. When we fall in love, the
kind of music we’d listen to would be all about love. When we’re sad, we would go for
music that is melancholic in nature and immerse ourselves in the sadness. When
we’re happy, we’d choose songs with happy tunes too.
Song can help to memorize the last experiences. A favorite song is a powerful
documentary. People with Alzheimer which are impaired the brain would remember
details about songs they were familiar with. For example, an elderly woman who
couldn’t even remember her husband’s name wouldremember the details of her favorite
song; when it was played, how it made her feel and things about the song that made

Further, music can unite people for a cause and changes the world. A song
with good lyric and striking deep chord can stimulate the universal feeling of all people.
We can see it in the case of the famous and legendary Michael Jacson's Heal the
World. It can arouse humanism of a lot people in this world.So what would the world

Public Transportation should be Free

If we can agree that government has some role to play in our lives, then let’s at least make it a
positive one. Consider the benefits of free, fully-subsidized public transportation.

First, it will motivate more people to leave their cars at home. Think of the reduction in
pollution and traffic jam and insurance costs due to accidents. Greener cities, safer cities,
more livable cities. More room for parks and trees. Think of the money we’ll all save by
consuming less gas, spending less frequently on car repairs, and so on. That money will stay
in our wallets and we could then turn around and give the economy a boost by spending it on
other consumer goods or services. More jobs.

Secondly, we must consider the health benefits. We’ll all walk a little more. This will reduce
visits to doctors’ offices and hospitals because we’ll be healthier. We’ll have improved blood
pressure, lower stress and possibly a better complexion.

In addition, free transportation will encourage us to enjoy the company of our friends and
family. It will become much more feasible to safely drink another glass of wine at the
restaurant or have that extra beer at the family gathering. We’ll avoid the worry of getting
behind the wheel with a blood-alcohol level that’s above the legal limit. Fewer accidents,
fewer tragedies, lower costs of policing and reduced court backlogs. The increased public
expense in transportation should pay off in the form of reduced health care costs and a safer
society.

Then, think about some of the other social benefits: imagine how much we’ll learn from each
other when we share rides instead of sitting in isolation in our cars. Talking to the neighbors
might come back into fashion. More people will meet and talk and maybe even help each
other.

Having someone else drive us will also give us more time for reading books and newspapers.
So, park your car and use it for your dream vacation.

No more fumbling for change, just hop on and off the streetcar or bus wherever and
whenever you like. What a great idea, especially for those who live in crowded, polluted
cities. It will renew life on our streets.

So I can’t agree more with this proposition. Let’s go for it!

Nowadays, the police have been applying the new regulation concerning the use of seat belts. In
European countries, this regulation has been applied for a long time. However, this new regulation
has become controversial and is an interesting topic to discuss. Here are some of the arguments.

The use of seat belts has been proven to reduce the risk of injury or death in an accident. Seat belt
has become a standard component in cars. The research shows that most car accident will cause an
injury to the head. Frequently, drivers or the passengers driving without seat belts die because of
this. By wearing the seat belts, the injury will not happen since belts restrain our body on the car
seat when the accident happens.

Unfortunately, many cars, especially the old ones, don’t have seat belts. This is because the traffic
conditions in the past were unlike the recent traffic conditions. The designer of old cars didn’t
consider a seat belt as an important part. Besides, the drivers wearing the seat belt will think that
they are completely safe, so they may drive carelessly. They are safe, indeed, but how about safety
of others?

The seat belt is only one of the ways to reduce the risk of car accidents. It doesn’t mean that we are
completely safe. In short, our safety depends on ourselves.

Use of Formalin and Other Additives in Foods

The use of formalin and other dangerous preservatives in food has been serious problem for
three reasons. Firstly, formalin is not for human beings, but it is for biological specimens and
experiments. Formalin in Biology is a 10% solution of formaldehyde in water which is
usually used as a disinfectant or to preserve biological specimens. Thus, it is not for food
preservatives. Of course when it is used for food preservative, it will be very dangerous to
human’s body.

The second reason is that there is no tight control from the government. This condition makes
the people’s health is really in a threat. When the control is weak and the use formalin was
spread wide all over the Indonesian regions, and these days it has really happened, the
citizen's bodies will be badly contaminated with the poisons. Fish or food traders still sell
their products which contain formalin and dangerous preservatives. Can you imagine that our
digestive system absorbs the substance that should be for the human and animal corpses?

Considering the reasons, we can make a conclusion that the use of formalin and other
preservatives is really a serious problem if it is not resolved immediately.

Dust Bin

To improve comfort and cleanliness at our school, a number of dust bins should be increased.

When we look at classrooms, school corridors and school yard, there are paper mineral water
cups, straws, and napkins here and there. The condition of uncleanliness and discomfort
really hinders learning and teaching environment. Litters thrown carelessly cause disease,
especially empty plastic cup or glasses. They can be filled out with water coming from the
rain. This can be placed for dengue mosquitoes to spread out. Besides, these rubbish can
deteriorate the scene. Well painted wall and green school yard do not mean anything litters
are scattered everywhere.

Anyway I notice that most of the students in our school have responsibilities for the school
environment. They put their litters on the proper places. But some are not diligent enough to
find the dust bins. The numbers of dust binds in our schools are not enough. Ore dust bins
should be put beside each of steps, outside of the classrooms, and some more also the
corridors. Probably one dust bin should be in every ten meters. So when students want to
throw away their litters, they can find the dust bins easily.

When school is equipped with sufficient dust bins, we do not have problems of freak and
discomfort any more. Our school will be very clean and become a nice place to study.

Integrated Pest Management

There is no best way to deal with pests in agriculture. Pesticides which are commonly used
may cause many problems. I think combining different management operations is the most
effective way to control pests.
Firstly, the chemicals in the pesticides may build up as residues in the environment and in the
soil which absorbs the chemicals. This reduces the quality of farm product.
Secondly, pests can gradually become resistant to pesticides. This means that newer and
stronger ones have to be developed.
Lastly, some pesticides affect non target plants and animals such as fish and bees. This
affects the ecology and environment as well.
So, understanding of ecology of an area helps a lot in pest control. Pesticides should be
chosen and applied carefully so that they don't affect the ecological balance and environment.
Therefore, integrated pest management is a safe and more effective option to fight pest in

Learning English

Learning English through music and songs can be very enjoyable. You can mix pleasure with
learning when you listen to a song and exploit the song as a means to your English progress.
Some underlying reason can be drawn to support the idea why we use songs in language
learning.

Firstly, “the song stuck in my head” Phenomenon (the echoing in our minds of the last song
we heard after leaving a restaurant, shopping malls, etc) can be both enjoyable and sometimes

Most people assume that life in the rat race is bad for your health. But reversing the
traditional gender roles, being a house husband is a stressful business, according to the latest
research by American scientist. By giving up their jobs in order to become house husbands,
men increase their risk of heart attack or coronary disease by as much as 82%, according to
research based on 10 year study of 2,500 people in Boston, USA.

I personally think that reading is a very important activity in our life. Why do I say
so? Firstly, by reading we can get a lot of knowledge about many things in the world such as
Science, technology. Sports, arts, culture, etc written in either books, magazine, newspaper,

Secondly, by reading we can get a lot of news and information about something happening in
any parts of the world which can we see directly.

Another reason, reading can give us pleasure too. When we are tired, we read books,

The last, reading can also take us to other parts of the world. By reading a book about Irian

The amount of homework given to students needs to be reduced for several reasons. In short,
time is limited in many students’ lives. At the same time, other students are showing alarming
levels of obesity due to sedentary lifestyles. Lastly, family disharmony has increased as a result of
stressed parents trying to get their children to do their homework.

Firstly, time is limited. Many students don’t arrive home until 6 pm. This is because they have
chosen to play sports which require a few hours training each week or they engage in cultural

In conclusion, homework should be reduced. We must recognize that students’ time is limited,
sedentary work contributes to the high levels of obesity and finally, homework can cause an
increase in family disharmony. The wellbeing of students is far more important than excessive
amounts of homework.

Motorbikes are a nuisance and a cause for great distress. Even motorbikes or considered as

I personally think that a person with a mental illness that we usually find wandering around

Saya pikir seseorang dengan penyakit kejiwaan yang biasa kita temukan sedang berkeliling –
keliling di lingkungan kita tanpa tujuan itu tidak berbahaya, namun sebuah tindakan serius
perlu dilakukan akan permasalahan ini. Beberapa alasan berikut ini akan menunjukkan pada

Yang pertama, orang dengan penyakit kejiwaan yang berjalan di sekeliling lingkungan kita
atau lingkungan kerja kita mungkin terlihat menyeramkan karena sering nya mereka

dibandingkan dengan ketika mereka kita biarkan berkeliling – keliling di jalanan secara bebas.

Yang kedua, kehilangan kesadaran mereka tidak berarti mereka telah melupakan naluri dasar
mereka untuk makanan, minuman dan perlindungan diri. Kita bisa membayangkan apa yang
akan terjadi saat mereka merasa lapar atau haus ketika mereka berkeliling-keliling di jalanan.
Mereka akan menimbulkan masalah bagi orang-orang di sekitar mereka. Menempatkan
mereka di sebuah tempat khusus akan mencegah masalah ini. Hal itu akan membawa
keamanan bagi orang yang sakit jiwa dan juga untuk masyarakat.

Yang ketiga, orang-orang dengan penyakit kejiwaan memang tidak memiliki pikiran yang
sehat, namun mereka itu memiliki tubuh yang sehat atau setidaknya organ tubuh yang sehat.
Tanpa adanya pengawasan, mereka adalah target terbaik bagi tindakan perdagangan manusia
karena tidak ada yang akan menyadari jika mereka menghilang. Inilah sebabnya kita perlu
melindungi mereka dengan menempatkan di sebuah fasilitas yang aman dimana kita bisa
selalu memeriksa keadaan mereka dan memastikan bahwa mereka dalam keadaan aman.

Berdasarkan penjelasan di atas, sudah jelas bahwa kita perlu melindungi orang yang memiliki

Illegal Logging is really a problematic case in this country. There are three reasons why it is
the case.

Firstly, the illegal logging has threatened the people who live in the countryside around or
under the area. The bald forest or hills make a big danger when the rainy seasons come. The
great quantity of water can create landslides since there are no enough trees to hold the water
and land. We have seen the landslide disasters which happened in many areas in Indonesia.

Bullying is the use of violence, threat, or force to intimidate others. This behaviour can be a habit
and involve an imbalance of social and physical power. This behaviour can include verbal abuse or
threats, physical violence or force and can be directed repeatedly against a certain victim. It maybe
based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability.

It is a very serious problem and dangerous for our social environment. We have to stop every single
act of bullying because it has many impacts that could be threatening each involved part of society,

primary school or junior high school have convicted at least once over a crime in the age of 24 years.
