Dear Abdullah:

Congratulations! I am pleased to learn that you have successfully completed your ESL studies
and received a 5.5 overall score on your IELTS.

Following a thorough review of your academic credentials, academic and activity interests, we
have concluded that you will be a successful student at Trine University. On behalf of the Allen School
of Engineering & Technology, I am offering you “conditional” admission as a first-year student planning
to pursue a Mechanical Engineering degree for the Spring Semester 2011. Your “conditional” admission
to the Allen School will be based on successful completion of the University’s Engineering Foundations
program to strengthen your math foundation prior to officially pursuing the Mechanical Engineering
degree. You will work closely with your academic advisor to meet the requirements for entry to the
degree program. Provided the necessary pre-requisites have been met, courses taken as an Engineering
Foundations student will closely mimic those courses listed in the Trine catalog for your desired major in
Mechanical Engineering.

English and mathematics exams will be required and administered upon your campus arrival to
assist us with your appropriate placement in credit level courses.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All international students are required to submit a one-time International
Student Enrollment Fee of $500 (U.S. dollars)… Payable to: Trine University. The International
Student Enrollment Fee will cover the following expenses: processing of documents, international
student orientation program, first time bus/car transportation from Ft. Wayne International Airport to
campus, and specialized programming (up to a four-year enrollment).

I will release an I-20 AB form for your F-1 International Student Visa after I receive the $500
International Student Enrollment Fee. Spring Semester 2011 fees must be paid by January 1, 2011.

Once again, Abdullah, on behalf of the entire Trine University community of faculty, students
and staff, I wish to congratulate you on your admission. I look forward to welcoming you to Trine
University.
