JoSAA/CSAB (JEE Main-2019)


I ADMISSION SCHEDULE

As per JoSAA/CSAB-2019 guidelines, the dates for reporting by candidates who have been
allotted seat in regular rounds are 19th – 23rd July 2019. About 1200 students will be taking
admission in NIT Calicut during this period, resulting in heavy rush to complete the admission
procedures. Hence for the sake of convenience, a branch-wise admission schedule has been
proposed. Accordingly, candidates and their parents are requested to follow the schedule given
below, to the extent possible. But in any case, make sure that you report for admission on or
before 23/07/2019 failing which your allotment will get cancelled.

II DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED IN ORIGINAL AT THE TIME OF


ADMISSION
Candidates shall fill the online data sheet which will be made available at our website, and
carry its printout while reporting for admission.
The ORIGINALS of the following documents have to be brought at the time of reporting for
admission:

1. Provisional Seat Allocation letter issued in the 7 Round, downloaded from JoSAA
website.
2. Document Verification-cum-Seat Acceptance Letter, issued from the Reporting Centre
3. Class X (High School) Board certificate, as proof of Name and Date of Birth.
4. Mark Sheet of the qualifying examination (Class XII).
5. School Leaving / Transfer Certificate from the Institution last attended.
6. GEN-EWS Certificate in the case of candidates who have been allotted seat under
GEN-EWS category, obtained from a competent authority (Revenue Officer not
below the rank of Tahsildar) indicating the status regarding EWS in the format
prescribed by JoSAA 2019, issued on or after April 1, 2019.
7. OBC-NCL certificate in the case of candidates who have been allotted seat in the
OBC-NCL category, obtained from a competent authority (Revenue Officer not
below the rank of Tahsildar) indicating the status regarding Creamy Layer in the
format prescribed by JoSAA 2019, issued on or after April 1, 2019.
8. Character and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended OR Character and
Conduct Certificate from a Gazetted Officer issued after January 31, 2019 for
candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in years prior to the current
academic year i.e., 2018-2019.
9. Community Certificate in the format prescribed by Govt. of India and issued by the
Competent Authority in case of SC/ST candidates (click here for format).
10. Disability certificate, in case of PwD candidates in the format prescribed by JoSAA.
11. Income Certificate (click here for format) issued on or after April 1, 2019 by a
revenue officer not below the rank of Tahsildar, for those General / GEN-EWS/
OBC–NCL candidates who claim fee concession as per MHRD Order No. F.No. 33-
4/2014-TS III dated 24th June 2016 (Applicable only if annual family income is less
than INR 5 lakhs).
12. Physical fitness certificate issued by a Govt. Medical Officer not below the rank of
Asst. Surgeon in the format prescribed by JoSAA
13. Copy of the first page of savings bank (SB) account passbook in the name of
candidate held in the State Bank of India.
14. Two copies of recent passport size photograph and two stamp size photographs.
15. Downloaded copy of the data sheet filled online from the link that will appear here
from 15/07/2019.

One self-attested copy of each of the above documents (Sl. No. 3-10) is to be
submitted at the time of admission.

If any certificate is in a language other than English/ Hindi, an English version of that
certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer / Competent Authority should be produced
compulsorily.

The candidates who are reporting for admissions must be accompanied by one of
their parents or an authorized guardian (The authorized guardian should possess a
photo identity card and authorization letter from the parent).

III FEES TO BE PAID AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION

(i) Institute Fee


The fee to be paid by various categories of candidates are given below

 All Gen/ GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL B Tech. candidates with household income above
INR 5 lakhs- 39, 630/-
 All Gen/ GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL B.Arch. candidates with household income above
INR 5 lakhs- 39, 680/-
 All other candidates– NIL

Mode of Payment – Payment can be done online using State Bank Collect at the link
that will appear here on 15/07/2019.

(ii) Hostel Fee


(a) Fee at the time of admission
Candidates belonging to SC/ST from Kerala- Rs. 5,000/-
All other candidates- Rs. 15,000/-.

(b) Hostel and mess monthly charges


Hostel room rent, electricity charge, water charge, mess and other establishment charges are
payable on monthly basis.
 Hostel charges including rent, water charge, electricity charge, etc. will be
approximately Rs.1000/- per month.
 Mess charges will be based on the type of mess and the quantity of extra food items
consumed by the student and will be approximately 3,500/-per month.
However, parents/students can pay an amount of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand
only) at the beginning of every semester as an advance against both hostel and mess
charges. If found less, parents/students will be informed to pay the balance. If found
excess, balance amount will be carried over to the next semester. The fee details and mode

iii. How to reach the Institute


National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is located in a campus at
Chathamangalam, about 22 kilometres North East of Calicut city in Kerala state. The
Institute is connected with Calicut city by KSRTC Buses (going towards Mukkam)
starting from KSRTC Central Bus Station and by Private Buses (going towards
Mukkam-Areacode) starting from Corporation Bus Station, Palayam (near Calicut
Railway Station). Taxi/Auto rickshaw can be hired from Calicut Railway/Bus Station
to NITC. The nearest airport is Calicut International Airport (CCJ), which is 45 kms
from the Institute.
