B. TESTIMONIALS

DEFYING LIMITATIONS

Go beyond your expectations, things I always say to myself for me to be motivated

because at the end of the day the only limitations that you can have in life is yourself. As a
leader, I describe myself as a person who always seeks challenges in life, who does not just
settle into his status quo. Being a leader for me is not just for the betterment of myself but
also a leader must have the qualities of helping or serving other people to the best that
you can give. Everybody can be a leader because a true leader is not just good in leading
but also good in molding their followers into a good and productive leader as well. Also, a
leader should acquire passion in what he is doing because knowledge and skills can be
learned along the way however your passion to what you are doing comes from within
and if you have your passion to it nothing can stop you in serving people who are indeed
of your leadership. Lastly, a leader should be flexible and with this, I can say that a good
leader is likely to be a confident, passionate and honest person with outstanding
analytical and communication skills. However, this may not the whole list of qualities in
being a leader but the mentioned ones are one of the most important factors and
irreplaceable.
Every leader has their own struggles in life, we might have failed from those
problems, but we did not lose the lesson that we learned from that mistake. For me one
of the most challenging experiences that I faced is myself when it comes in not realizing
my weaknesses earlier. To be honest, I regret it because if I just realized my weaknesses a
head of time then I might be able to change that into my strength prior to my current
situation that time. It was the time I experience humility and not success, setbacks and
not confidence, mistakes and criticisms. All of that are getting me down not think that the
problem was me, me being not able to accept my flaws and me having low self-esteem in
every situation. Thus, I tried to make myself better by joining activities that enhances my
interpersonal skills and trying to be open and be more optimistic in every instance that
could happen to my life. Luckily, I was able to surpass that problem for me to serve or help
other students as a leader. Thus , I learned from this problem is that we should not be
afraid of taking chances or risks in life because whatever happens either we achieved it or
we failed it is still a part of our growth as a leader since we were able to learn from that
experience.
Being a student leader requires you a lot of determination and persistence to achieve
your goal for the betterment of the whole organization. Hence, I make sure that I remain
optimistic and motivated to every situation that I might face and I think one of the most
things I contributed to my organization is my characteristics when it comes to handling
things. Moreover, I am leader who handle things really passionate and I always want to
put my 100 percent effort to it. With this, I considered myself as a contributor in creating a
new image of our organization because as a leader I always have this vision to myself and
my advocacy that I know will be beneficial in every member of the organization. One of
this is I want everyone to see that the scholar of Adamson University doesn't just excel
academically nor inside the four sides of the room but I wanted them to realize that we
the Academic Scholar's Alliance are scholars with passion, scholar who are charitable and
a scholar that have a stand and advocacy to our society. Thus, I can proudly say that we
made a hallmark to every people in defining the real meaning of what it takes to be an
Academic Scholar.
Apparently it really helped me even more grow as a leader and surpass my own
expectation to myself. I learned the necessity of the saying I should be two steps a head in
every instances because in life there are really unpredictable circumstances that could
happen, I learned how to process things needed before having and executing an activity.
Also, it harnesses my ability to take charge and be responsible in delegating task to my co-
officer and members and managing time as well. Aside from that, I learned how to adjust
when it comes with the disadvantages of the organization because as we all know a socio
civic organization sometimes have minimal participants in an event or activity but I
understand their situation that they needed to attend to their mother organization
however it doesn't make me stop in executing a successful event. In addition, I also learn
the real essence of serving where you're not expecting in return but the feelings of being
fulfilled just to know that your event is successful and to see those smile of every
participants takes away all the exhaustion in your body. As an officer we tend to exert our
efforts in brainstorming, managing and conducting every activity just to be more
entertaining, informative and helpful to

I can tell a leader is a Vincentian student if he/she is integrating all the values of
Saint Vincent de Paul. A leader must acquire not just being competent but also a leader
who have a heart in helping people being a charitable leader. In addition a leader must
possess the 5 core values in his or her personality. Being a Vincentian student leader must
have some advocacy and stands that could really help to be more aware and responsible
to his society. Also, he should know how to manage people even despite all the diverse
personality a every person, a leader must know how to unite people and cooperate in
every situation. A leader must also possess the teachings of Saint Vincent de Paul simply
by applying the 3c’s and the core values of SVP. Lastly a leader must be futuristic must
sustain the development of their service by giving some events or services that could
really be beneficial not just today but also to their future. All in all I can Proudly say that
I’m one of the Vincentian Student Leader of Adamson University and I’m really grateful to
be part of this family to learn all leadership with the teachings of Saint Vincent de Paul ,
because it’s one of the most thing that I could be proud of even when I finish my study
here in Adamson University because that what’s makes us different to other people and to
other student leader.
