Improvements for Version 0726/F

1) Online LAN port number change support

Item Description
Contents This LAN port number used to communicate with SNM was port 2000(fixed). This microcode
will support the change of this LAN port number in case of conflict with other network devices.
This will require SNM v2.1 or higher. (Note: HTM, HDVM and Hi-Track also use the same API
and will have to also be changed at the same time. Hi-Track v3.3 currently supports this.
Hicommand support will be coming in a future release.)

The change of contents for Version 0726/F

1) Subsystem Down during power-off sequence

Item Description
Contents Subsystem down may occur in the PIN data de-stage process during power-off. This is caused
by a microcode bug in logic to process HDD timeout error in the PIN data de-stage process
Problem may occur when all the following conditions are met.
A) PIN data for an FC HDD exists in cache memory.
B) PS is turned off.
C) HDD timeout error occurs on a write command to de-stage the above PIN data.

2) Subsystem Down by pulling SATA HDD

Item Description
Contents When the Device ID of the SATA expansion unit is changed or broken, subsystem down may
occur by pulling an HDD. ALPA of HDU is changed because of a SENC firmware bug.
Problem may occur when all the following conditions are met.
A) SENC firmware is 5.77C or older.
B) Device ID is changed or broken.
C) HDD is pulled out.

3) Watchdog timeout error occurs on SENC firmware
Item Description
Contents When SENC1 alarm occurs, an HDU alarm or HDU error occurs on even number HDU, When
SENC0 alarm occurs, an HDU alarm of HDU error occurs on odd number HDU. SENC detects
a failure with SENC experiencing resource starvation and performs LPFO; however the SENC
recovered after LPFO and incorrectly detected failure of the other SENC.
Problem may occur when all the following conditions are met.
A) SENC firmware is 5.77C or older.
B) SENC firmware resource starvation (resource scheduling algorithm) occurs.
C) SENC firmware recovers within 30 seconds.

4) Default gateway address of 0.0.0.0 cannot be set by Web maintenance mode

Item Description
Contents When 0726/B is installed and the IP address of the maintenance port has not been set, the
default gateway address 0.0.0.0 cannot be set by maintenance port.
Microcode rejects the following combination of the settings
A) IP address of the maintenance port set to 0.0.0.0
B) Default gateway address of 0.0.0.0
Problem may occur when all the following conditions are met.
A) Microcode is 0726/B.
B) IP address of the maintenance port has not been set.
C) Attempt is made to set the default gateway address to 0.0.0.0 by Web maintenance mode.

5) Unable to put subsystem in maintenance mode

Item Description
Contents When the S-RST SW of both controllers is pushed in order to enter Maintenance mode, LAN
connection failure may occur on the controller. This phenomenon is caused by a microcode bug
in the logic to put both controllers with 4Gbps FC I/F board option into Maintenance mode, and
the hardware interrupts, caused by the reset of the option board is not masked properly.
Problem may occur when all the following conditions are met.
A) AMS200 or WMS100.
B) Dual controllers
C) 4Gb FC interface board option (DF-F700-DJ4G2W).
D) Microcode 0726/B or 0726/E.
E) Subsystem is Ready condition.
F) S-RST is pressed on both controllers.

6) Network issues (Cisco 3550 switch)

Item Description
Contents AMS did not reply to ping command with Cisco 3550 switch IP header modification
(Differentiated Service Field) enabled.
The network driver had a bug on the procedure for route selecting at IP packet transmission. The
packet was transmitted to the default gateway when the DSF was enabled.
