I. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Project Title: The R’s Project: Building a Selfless and Safe Community
Type of Project: Student Development
Project Proponent/s:These Project is headed by the Red Cross Youth Adviser
and Officers
Number of Beneficiaries: 50% of targeted child may learn and develop their
potential in safety awareness through the basic 4R’s
(Reading, ‘Riting, ‘Rtihmetic, Right Conduct)
Project recipients: Street children in Brgy. 179
Date of Implementation/Duration: February 16, 24 and 25, 2019 (Saturday,
Sunday and Monday)
Budget Requirement: The only expenses will be the things needed and fares
Sources of Fund: Student and School fund
II. RATIONALE
In line with the mission of the Red Cross, “Always First, Always Ready, Always
There”, it is a paramount responsibility of everyone to prepare himself in times of
need. The poor and the needy that don’t have enough resources to learn and go to
school are deprived with the opportunity to prepare themselves and learn the basic
lessons of reading, writing and arithmetic. It is in this advocacy that this project was
conceived. Together, with the Department of Education mission that no children will
be left behind, this activity would like to promote a spirit of generosity and selfless
love in extending the classroom to the street children who can’t afford to go to
school to learn the basics of learning such as Reading, ‘Riting, and ‘Rtihmetic
through the integration of topics in safety and health awareness. Essentialists
believe that through the mastery of this basic subjects, people will learn the
essentials of a higher order thinking skills. Thus, with these we can develop an
individual who doesn’t only have the ability to think and decide properly but an
individual who is also equipped with good moral values. Lessons conceptualized in
the program manifest systems that provide inspiration and experiential learning in
the streetchildren of the community.
III. OBJECTIVES
To develop the Reading, ‘Riting, ‘Rtihmetic skills of streetchildren.
To teach the streetchildren on the basic first aid measures in times of disaster.
To give access to education for the poor and the needy.
To cultivate a culture of generosity and selfless love to other people.

V. METHOD
The purpose of this activity is to provide access on education of streetchildren within
the school vicinity like Amparo. For 2 days immersion, recipients will be taught the
basic skills of Reading, ‘Riting, ‘Rtihmetic through the integration of health and
safety lessons that may help them adopt in times of disaster. Varied activities will
be given to make learning easy and fun.

VII. RESULT
Produce children equipped with the basic knowledge of health and safety using the
basic 3 R’s of learning. Furthermore, it aims also to produce a responsible and
dedicated leader in school and community wherein the spirit of generosity and
selfless love is embraced in helping the poor and the needy.

The Red Cross Youth Council Officers would like to ask a permission from your good
office to please allow us to conduct the activity entitled, ‘The R’s Project: Building a
Selfless and Safe Community” outside the school at the Fairview Park on February
16, 24, & 25, 2019 from 8:00AM-1:00PM. This project aims to help street children to
learn health and safety measures using the basic 3R’s of learning which are Reading,
‘Riting, ‘Rtihmetic in order to prepare them for a disaster.

children to prepared in first aid and safety awareness when it comes to disaster
on our community the activity is entitled “Teaching with selfless love “ on January
26-27, 2019 (Saturday-Sunday) from 3:30- 5:30 P.M. at fairview
