About USMLE
The United States Medical Licensure Examina on is a three-step exam for medical
licensure in the US. It is sponsored by two non-profit organiza ons – The
Federa on of State Medical Boards (FSMB®) and The Na onal Board of Medical
Examiners (NBME®). Medical Graduates are required to pass this exam before
being permi ed to prac ce medicine in the United Sates.

Step 1
The Step 1 exam assesses basic science knowledge and the applica on of the
concepts in clinical scenarios. Students are eligible to take this exam a er
comple ng 2nd year of medical school.

Step 2 is divided into two important exams:

Step 2 CK (Clinical Knowledge)

This exam assesses if medical students or graduates can apply medical knowledge
and skills essen al to pa ent care under supervision.

Step 2 CS (Clinical Skills)

This exam uses standardized pa ents to test medical students and graduates on
their ability to gather informa on, perform physical examina on and
communica on skills.

Step 3
The Step 3 exam is the final in the USMLE® series and emphasises on pa ent
management. It assesses whether medical graduates can apply medical
knowledge and understanding essen al to pa ent care without supervision.

The Step 1 and 2CK exams can be given at Prometric Tes ng Centers worldwide
on appointment basis. The Step 2CS and Step 3 exams have to be taken in the
US.

Dr. Lionel Raymon - Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Integrated Cases

Dr. Raymon, PharmD, PhD, is uniquely versed in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Pathology and
possesses a strong understanding of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathophysiology, allowing him
to synthesize basic science concepts for the USMLE Step 1 exam like no one else.

Dr. Mary J. Ruebush - Immunology / Microbiology

Dr. Ruebush, PhD, is one of the na on's most experienced and acclaimed instructors in Microbiology
