Dear Adiroopa,

T hanks f or the time and ef f ort that you put into

your essay.

Your essay examines the value and limits of human

rights in challenging gender stereotypes. T he essay

/100 pays attention to both women and LGT B and it

argues that, even though important steps have been
taken in the f ield of human rights to promote
equality, dif f iculties to eradicate structural violence
in the f orm of gender stereotypes is still present.

You advance a clear argument in the essay and you

mobilise relevant literature and case law and norms
to support your point.

You made a good ef f ort in the essay to bring

together dif f erent bodies of literature and to explore
the broader implications and context of human
rights.

T he essay would have benef ited f rom a bit more

detailed and rounded articulation of your main
argument. Similarly it would have ben f antastic to
explore in more detail the link between women rights
and LGT B rights in contemporary literature. Clarity in
the writing was also compromised at some points.

I hope this essay has given you the possibility to

f urther explore and research on the broader
dynamics of international human rights law. For me it
was a pleasure to have you in class and read your
work!

Good luck with your dissertation.

Warm regards,

Luis
