The application was initially
submitted in INZ’s Mumbai

July 3 and were waiting eagerly for a
favourable outcome.
“To my client’s frustration, the visa
application was declined with INZ uploading a
date when the case officer had first asked for
decline-letter online on July 5.

After almost six months of waiting, the case
was transferred onshore to the Hamilton office
when a case officer first got in touch with him on
June 26, 2019, seeking additional information
in support of the application.
“I was really excited when the letter
came from the case officer asking for more
information as it ensured that my wife’s file
had finally moved [in the queue] reaching to a
stage when someone was actually assessing the
application,” Mr Hossain said.
“However, it was really frustrating to
know that the case officer had already made
up their mind to reject the application that
day itself when they had actually asked us to
provide more information,” an exasperated Mr
Hossain said.
“I am not sure if there was a racial bias
involved or not, but it was definitely pre-
decided,” Mr Hossain said.
He was bewildered by INZ’s assertion that
they believed that he and his newlywed wife
were not living together in a genuine and stable
relationship.
“Your supporting partner’s travel history
suggests that he visited you from August 16,
2018, to September 28, 2018, and again from
March 13 to April 14, 2019, however, no
evidence has been provided to demonstrate that
you and your partner have lived together during
the two periods of time,” the letter from the case
officer to the client said, which her husband
Rasel Hossain is struggling to understand.

“I work full time in New Zealand as an
Assistant Manager, and we are generally
eligible to get only four weeks of leave
from work.
“However, despite this, I had managed to
visit my wife on two occasions for one month
each,” Mr Hossain said.
“If this is not enough, I am not sure what
else INZ expects from someone who is on a
legitimate work visa and working full time in
NZ,” Mr Hossain asked exasperatingly.
Meanwhile, Immigration Adviser Ms
Matharu was less worried about many details
around declining of partnership visa, but more
concerned if there was any bigger malaise
within INZ targeting people based on ethnicity
or race.
It is important to note that Immigration New
Zealand had already come under a scanner
earlier this year for using racial profiling as a
way of ranking the risk visa applicants may
pose to the country.
According to a report appearing in www.rnz.
co.nz, in a briefing document on student visas,
nine nationalities were blanked out in a table
showing the numbers of high, medium and low-
risk applications.
Many Immigration advisers and lawyers had
then argued that such a racial profiling had been
happening for quite some time – a charge that
INZ had then refuted.
Of major concern were the applications
emanating from the Indian market, which
according to many experts were being queued,
as applications initially assessed as low risk
were being prioritised, while the rest were to
be dealt with once the others were processed.
INZ has been approached for comment at
the time of the story going live and they were

rickshaw in India for charity

hree Kiwi youngsters are all
set to drive an auto-rickshaw
in India for about 3000 km,
all by themselves, that too without
much training and preparation, to
support a charity that they all adore.
Joshua Bardell, Sean Boult and
Emily Spink, who are “a science guy,
a sales guy and a media gal from
New Zealand,” who met in January,
while volunteering at Camp Purple
Live, a camp for children and teens
with Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative
Colitis, are excited about the

to live free from violence

T
he coalition Government continues
to make progress on tackling the
long term challenges facing New
Zealand and to lifting the wellbeing of
every New Zealander. This July 1, a few
changes came into effect that me proud to
be supporting this Government.
One milestone I’m especially proud
of is the raft of significant changes to the
Family Violence Act 2018 that are now in
effect. The changes give decision-makers
and practitioners in the family violence
sector better guidance about the nature and
impact of family violence. Considering
family violence manifests slightly
differently in different socio-cultural
contexts, I’m heartened that the new Act
takes into account forms of family violence
that disproportionately impact women
from different contexts. For example, the
new Act include an updated definition of
family violence that recognises dowry
abuse as a form of violence and contains
an explicit focus on coercion to marry.
The issue of forced marriage is one that
I’ve campaigned against for many years,
alongside organisations like Shakti NZ.
Everyone has the right to live free from
violence. These changes are a step in the
right direction to ensure that everyone
affected by family violence gets the help
they need, that the sector is integrated and
that perpetrators are held to account.
This government has made ending
family violence and sexual violence a
priority. The Wellbeing Budget made the
single biggest contribution in the violence
prevention space in New Zealand’s history
– supporting frontline agencies, prevention
work and dedicated funding to intervene
before violence occurs.
Other changes that have come into effect
include the ban on single use plastic bags
– helping us live up to our country’s clean,
green reputation, a boost to the maximum
weekly rate of paid parental leave by an
extra 20 dollars per week and the healthy
homes standards to make rental properties
warmer and drier. The latter will help
alleviate preventable respiratory illnesses
that have sent 40,000 children per year to
hospital in previous years.
This government is committed to
improving the wellbeing of all New
Zealanders. The changes from July 1
represent the Government’s commitment
to making a real difference in New
Zealanders daily lives.

to better meet the needs
of a growing and increasingly diverse ethnic
community.
It was launched with a celebration ceremony
in New Lynn, with performances, speeches
and entertainment for the approximately 100
community members present.
The Plan was developed with representatives
of the community, and contains a number of
recommendations in the short, medium and
long term.

has welcomed the appointment
of a new Race Relations
Commissioner, announced by Justice
Minister Andrew Little on Thursday,
July 11.
Outgoing Gisborne Mayor Meng Foon
has been appointed the Race Relations
Commissioner, and he is expected to
take up his new position in August 2019.
Mr Foon joins the Commission after
18 years as Mayor of Gisborne and is
fluent in te Reo Māori, Seyip, Cantonese and
English, and is learning Mandarin. “It’s an honour to have been appointed

ogathon  – Health for Humanity 2019

Zealanders have collectively performed
circa 137,000 Sun Salutations (known as Surya
Namaskar) over the two weeks of the national
challenge. 
 Yogathon 2019 was a two week event across
New Zealand, encouraging New Zealanders
to learn, participate and incorporate yoga into
their daily lives.  Participants registered online,
individually or as groups and performed Surya
Namaskar at their own pace and in their own
time.  They counted the number of times they
did the cycle, a combination of 12 asanas
(postures) and submitted their total count to the
organising team.  the closing ceremony held in Auckland.
“This success belongs to every participant in
New Zealand that decided to try a sun salutation
and submitted their number to contribute to
the target that was set,” a spokesperson from
Yogathon NZ said.

Community Badminton Tournament

here is no doubt that nowadays a lot of
people craze for the badminton game,
which is mounting higher than cricket.
This game is authoritatively the quickest of all
racket sports.
On June 30, the Telugu Badminton Club of
Canterbury organized a Telugu Community
Badminton Tournament in honour of former
Indian Prime Minister Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao.
The tournament was conducted with the
Swiss system format as a doubles event with 32
players. A Swiss-system tournament is a non-
eliminating tournament format that features
a set number of rounds of competition, but
considerably fewer than that of a round-robin
tournament. The Swiss system is used for
competitions in which the number of entrants
is considered too large for a full round-robin
to be feasible, and eliminating any competitors
before the end of the tournament is undesirable

soon after the first round, based on their
performances, the teams were divided into
groups A and B.

were declared winners in Group A, followed

esidents of the Muslim
community in Timaru have
started a fundraising drive
to buy a property and build the first
mosque for the Timaru region.
The Timaru Muslim Education
Trust, a non-profit charitable
organisation, was created to raise
funds to purchase the building,
which is to be settled by September
1, 2019.
TMET entered into a six months contract
earlier in March 2019 to purchase the building
in Parkside, Timaru with a cost of $425,000. The
settlement date of the property is September 1,
2019.
“The donation raised will significantly help
to pay for the building, renovations, which is
much needed to make it suitable as a place for
prayer, to buy materials such as prayer mats,
Holy Book of Quran and a few resources for
community to use it as a reference in order
to teach about Islam to the community,” the
fundraising project on Launchgood.com read.

community centre is a two-floored building

ay by day, New Zealand’s robbery cases
sees an ever-mounting high. A recent
incident had occurred in Christchurch
that created a sense of fear for retail store
owners in the city.
Police are investigating the aggravated
robbery of the dairy store at Kidbrooke street,
in Christchurch.
The incident occurred on Monday, July
8, about 7:35 a.m. when a man described as
wearing black pants and a black jacket, face
covered with a camouflage balaclava walked
into the dairy store brandishing a pistol.
The offender demanded money from the
store attendant and threatened him with
his pistol.
The CCTV footage supplied by the
Canterbury Police showed the store attendant
being pushed and forced to enter a side room
while the offender moved towards the counter
trying to take cash.
While the offender tried to take the cash,
he was apprehended by the store attendant
pushing him towards the other corner of the
cash counter- a hand fight ensued, and the store
attendant wearing red jacket was seen shoving
the offender to the ground. The store attendant
then picked up a metal rod scaring the offender,
who in-turn pushed the store attendant to the
ground, climbed up on to the cash counter and
then evaded the scene.
The early morning incident unfolded within
forty seconds in which the store attendant
suffered blows to his face and body, but the
offender had to run away, what appeared to
have returned empty-handed from the incident.
“He [the offender] assaulted the dairy owner,
who was taken to hospital in a stable condition,”
a Police media release confirmed.
Police released CCTV footage on Monday
evening and have appealed the public to come
forward if they have any information.
“Anyone who recognises the man or has
any information about the incident is urged
to contact Detective Craig Lattimore at
Christchurch Central Police on 03 363 7400 or
call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555
111,” Canterbury Police appealed.

Authority (FMA) - New Zealand’s
financial regulator - to host a seminar
on Crypto-currency.
The launch of Facebook’s new
crypto-currency ‘Libra’ has created
a resurgence in interest in crypto-
currencies – with many New
Zealanders hoping to make a quick
profit as their coins increase in value.
On Monday, July 8, over 30 people
attended a seminar in Wellington
by the FMA to learn more about
crypto-currencies and how to protect
themselves from scams.
Speaking to The Indian Weekender
Ekta’s project leader, Jasmindar Kaur
Singh, said, ‘’The public needs to be
aware of the types of financial scams
and some of the pitfalls with crypto-
currency and similar schemes, as it’s
not always what it’s made out to be.’’
Ekta said its objective in organising
the seminar is for members of the
Indian diaspora and other migrant
communities to hear and directly
engage with the Regulator on what
protection New Zealand legislation
provided and to hear how people
were being scammed.
This is the second financial
awareness seminar that Ekta has
organised in recent months. The
first was on “Overseas income and
Tax implications in New Zealand”.
We will also be organising another
on “Kiwi Saver and Financial
Management”.

audience “Crypto-currencies are
high risk and can go up and down
in value very quickly. Many crypto-
currency exchanges are unregulated
and operate exclusively online.
This makes it hard to find out who
is offering, exchanging, buying or
selling it and very unlikely you’ll
recover your money if things go
wrong.
“Sadly, there are many scammers
out there using clever tactics to
rip-off New Zealanders and using
crypto-currencies can make you a
target for other types of high-risk
investment scams.”
What are crypto-
currencies?
C rypto-currencies are digital
tokens you can buy online and
use to buy goods or services from
anyone willing to accept it. They
are not legal tender and do not exist
physically as notes and coins. There
are over 1,300 different crypto-
currencies with some of the most
well-known ones being bitcoin,
ethereum, ripple and litecoin.
Three things to know
They can change in value very
quickly
There are lots of crypto-currencies
available. If one becomes popular
its value may increase quickly,
but its value can also suddenly drop,
sometimes permanently.
The risk increases if you invest in
the futures market through contracts
for differences (CFDs) where you
make (or lose) money by predicting
how the price of crypto-currencies
might change.
Your ‘coins’ may be stolen
All online transactions are at risk
of hacking or other types of cyber-

communication.
They promise you very high
returns, with little risk. These
promises are nearly always too good
to be true.
They tell you the offer is known
only to a select few and should be

you speaking to an adviser or the
authorities. A legitimate business
will always give you an opportunity
to seek professional advice from
someone you choose yourself. 
The person/business gives you
little or no information in writing.
All legitimate investments must have

NZ's skill shortfalls revealed

ivil Engineers, Salespeople,
Construction Managers and DevOps
professionals are four of the skills
sought by the 49 per cent of employers who
plan to increase permanent staff levels in New
Zealand over the next 12 months, according to
recruiting experts Hays.
In a survey of more than 900 employers
in New Zealand, representing over 259,000
employees, for the annual Hays Salary Guide,
53 per cent said technical skills have the highest
impact on the effectiveness of an organisation
or department. This was followed by trade-
specific (47 per cent), staff management (30 per
cent), business development (26 per cent) and
digital (25 per cent).
“Labour supply has been an ongoing issue
across New Zealand for some time, so with
employers telling us they want to continue
adding to their headcount in the next few
months, highly-skilled professionals will be
in high demand and can access strong career-
advancing opportunities,” says Adam Shapley,
Managing Director of Hays in New Zealand.
According to Hays, 81 per cent of employers
- up from 78 per cent last year and much higher
than Australia’s 70 per cent - say skill shortages
are likely to impact the effective operation
of their business or department in either a

The Commerce Commission has
granted clearance for Infratil Limited to acquire
up to 50% of the shares in Vodafone New
Zealand Limited.
Infratil is an investment company whose
current interests include a 51% share of
Trustpower Limited. Infratil submitted that
Vodafone and Trustpower would continue to
operate as independent companies. While the
Commission accepts this is likely, its analysis
of the proposed acquisition was based on the
conservative assumption that the businesses of
Trustpower and Vodafone could be combined.
In reaching its decision, the Commission
focused on the possible impact of the proposed
acquisition in the national markets for the retail
supply of broadband and mobile services.
Chair Anna Rawlings said the Commission
was satisfied Infratil’s proposed shareholding
in both Vodafone and Trustpower would not
substantially lessen competition in any of the
markets it assessed.
“While Trustpower has in the past been an
aggressive competitor in residential broadband,
with a particular focus on energy and broadband
bundles, several other multi-utility providers
have similarly emerged including Vocus,
Nova Energy and Contact Energy. 2Degrees
and Stuff are also competing effectively in the
residential broadband market alongside Spark
and MyRepublic,” Ms Rawlings said.

Act repealed and replaced with a new
Public Service Act. While ministries would
still undertake routine activities, a series of
boards made up of agency heads would be set
up. These would be accountable to a single
minister and receive direct budget allocations
for specific efforts, such as reducing child
poverty, improving mental health services
and undertaking initiatives to support New
Zealand’s climate change efforts.
“Breaking down the silos inherent in our
current system is vital if we’re to develop and
deliver public services that are designed to
meet the needs of a modern New Zealand,”
says Gray.

infrastructure is in place, addressing agency

foundation for success. There’s also a major
requirement to have robust data security
and transparency processes in place. Ease
of storing, accessing and sharing citizens’
personal data is what will make this plan
possible, so people will need to have absolute
confidence in the system.”

and unorganised sectors”, unlike the current
Minimum Wages Act and the Payment of Wages
Act that apply only to employees engaged in
certain kinds of jobs.
Government officials who spoke on condition of
anonymity said the National Democratic Alliance
(NDA) administration is very keen that both bills
be introduced and passed in the ongoing Budget
Session of Parliament.
The OSH code will cover 400 million workers
in the organised and the unorganised sectors and
encompass provisions from around 13 labour laws,
including the Factories Act, the Mines Act, the
Dock Workers Act, the Working Journalists
and other Newspaper Employees Act, and the
Cine Workers and Cinema Theatre Workers
Act.

cumbersome and the government’s plan is to
simplify them into four codes: wages; OSH;
industrial relations; and social security. For
instance, according to government officials, the
OSH Code will ensure that provisions pertaining
to 622 sections in 13 laws will now be simplified
and covered by just 134 sections.

by the government last year said that it will now

version of the indigenous BrahMos supersonic
missile.
The upgraded version of the world’s fastest supersonic
cruise missile with an enhanced range of up to 500 km is
also ready, CEO of BrahMos Aerospace, Sudhir Kumar
Mishra said.
Speaking to state-run broadcaster Doordarshan News
Sunday, Mishra said it was possible to increase the range
of this missile since India was now a part of the elite
Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR).
He said India was now the only country in the world
to integrate long-range missiles onto fighter jets after the
BrahMos missile was test-fired from a Sukhoi 30 aircraft
of the Indian Air Force.
Brahmos missile, which cruises at almost three times
the speed of sound at Mach 2.8, is the heaviest weapon to
be deployed on the Su-30 fighters.
“We can take on any ship at sea up to 300 to 400 km
(far) and after some time, may be longer; we can take on
land targets up to hundreds of km and with the test that we
have conducted some time back (from Sukhoi 30), ranges
up to thousands of km,” he said, according to a release by
the state-run broadcaster.
Mishra said for the Army, the Navy and the Air Force,
Brahmos has become a weapon of choice and the steep
90-degree version has become an ultimate aircraft carrier
killer.
He said the technologies that BrahMos Aerospace has
developed did not exist either in India or Russia earlier.
BrahMos Aerospace is a joint venture company owned
by the governments of India and Russia and its missiles
are produced in India.

Saha, who also spoke on the programme, said the steep
dive version of the missile is a game changer for mountain

Apollo 11 mission to be
projected onto Washington Monument
T
o mark 50 years of the first
lunar landing, a 363-feet
Saturn V rocket that took
man to the moon, will be projected
on the east face of the Washington
Monument from July 16-20.
Towards the end, the massive
projection will be accompanied by a
special 17-minute show, 'Apollo 50:
Go for the Moon', that recreates the
launch of Apollo 11.

has resigned following
a diplomatic spat over a leaked
email in which he criticised Donald
Trump, the Foreign Office said on

SpaceX wins NASA
contract for mission to
study black hole

ASA has selected Elon
Musk's SpaceX to provide
launch services for the
agencys Imaging X-Ray Polarimetry
Explorer (IXPE) mission, which will
help astronomers better understand
cosmic phenomena such as black
holes and neutron stars.
The total cost for NASA to launch
IXPE is approximately $50.3 million,
which includes the launch service
and other mission-related costs, the
US space agency said on Tuesday.
IXPE measures polarized X-rays
from objects, such as black holes and
neutron stars to better understand
these types of cosmic phenomena
and extreme environments.
The mission currently is targeted
to launch in April 2021 on a Falcon 9
rocket from Launch Complex 39A in
Florida, NASA said.
IXPE will fly three space
telescopes with sensitive detectors
capable of measuring the polarisation
of cosmic X-rays, allowing scientists
to answer fundamental questions
about these turbulent environments
where gravitational, electric and
magnetic fields are at their limits.
"As NASA planned where to land
Apollo 11, the unmanned American
Ranger, Surveyor, and Lunar Orbiter
spacecraft journeyed to the Moon
and transmitted images, creating
otherworldly photographs not only of
the lunar areas visible from the Earth,
but also of the Moon's far side," the
gallery said in a statement.
From more recent times, displayed
will be a selection of photographs
from these missions. From Apollo
11, glass stereographs taken by Neil
Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin show
close-up views of three-inch-square
areas of the lunar surface.

Trump to meet with Pakistani PM in late July
U S President Donald Trump will meet with Pakistani Prime Minister
Imran Khan on July 22 at the White House, discussing counterterrorism
and other issues, according to a statement released by the White House.
Trump and Khan will discuss a range of issues, including counterterrorism,
defence, energy and trade, the Xinhua news agency reported.
It will be Khan's first visit to the US since he assumed office in August
last year. Washington and Islamabad have been at odds over the US war
in Afghanistan. Last month, Pakistan rejected a report issued by the US
State Department on International Religious Freedom, saying the segment
on Pakistan is "a compendium of unsubstantiated and biased assertions."
World not doing enough about climate change: UN
T he world's governments are showing a lack of ambition in pursuing the
2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in terms of
reducing inequality and countering climate change, the United Nations said
in a report published Tuesday.
The findings were presented at the opening of the UN High-level Political
Forum on Sustainable Development, which brings together some 2,000
participants from around the world to evaluate progress toward meeting the
17 SDGs that the world body's 193 member-states set in 2015, the Efe news
reported. Time is running short to take effective action on climate change,
the head of UN Economic and Social Affairs, Liu Zhenmin, said.
"The challenges highlighted in this report are global problems that require
global solutions. Just as problems are interrelated, the solutions to poverty,
inequality, climate change and other global challenges are also interlinked,"
he said.
Boeing 737 delivery registers drastic fall in Q2 2019

Boeing Company said
Tuesday it delivered 24 737
commercial airplanes in the
second quarter of 2019, a drastic
fall of about 73 per cent from the
previous quarter.
The significant decline of 737
jets in the second quarter indicated Boeing is reeling from the impact of two
deadly air crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia in October 2018 and March
2019, respectively. Boeing delivered 89 737 airplanes in the first quarter, the
Xinhua news agency reported.
The 737 MAX aircraft have been grounded globally since March this year
after two 737 jets fell down in Indonesia last October and Ethiopia in March
2019, and the two incidents killed a total of 346 people aboard.
Boeing has since been working desperately to rebuild reputation and
trust from aviation regulators and the general public, who have expressed
concerns about the safety of the aircraft.
The US top aircraft maker cut monthly production of 737 MAX aircraft to
42 from a previously scheduled rate of 52 in April this year.
Boeing reported no new orders for 737 MAX for the month of March.
Australia promises referendum on recognition of
indigenous rights
T he Australian government promised on Wednesday to hold a
referendum on whether to amend the constitution to recognize the
rights of indigenous people.
The vote will be held within three years, Minister for Indigenous
Australians Ken Wyatt said in a National Press Club address.
"I will develop and bring forward a consensus option for constitutional
recognition to be put to a referendum during the current parliamentary
term," said Wyatt, the first indigenous person to hold the ministerial
position, reported Efe news. The Australian constitution, which came into
force in 1901, makes no reference to the indigenous Aboriginal or Torres
Strait Islander population, which has prompted various complaints by this
historically marginalized and discriminated minority.

can be prepared at any time, for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
BREAKFAST SLIDERS
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 - pack of sliders (There are 8 in one pack )
• 8 - eggs
• 2tbsp cream
• A pinch of salt and pepper
• 1tbsp - butter
• 6 - bacon strips
• 60gm - baby spinach leaves
• 1cup - cheddar cheese, grated ( White )
• 1/2tsp - black pepper
• 1tsp - salt
• 2tbsp - butter, melted
• Butter to spread on sliders
METHOD:
• Preheat the oven to 180 degrees c.
• In a large bowl beat the eggs with cream,
salt and pepper, keep aside.
• In a frying pan heat 1 tablespoon of butter
on the medium flame and cook eggs to the
desired consistency, remove into a bowl
and keep aside.
• Cook the bacon, cut them into pieces and
keep aside
• Slice the sliders in half lengthwise,
horizontally (Without breaking the sliders
apart). Place the bottom half of the sliders in
a greased baking pan or dish approximately
23cm to 33cm (big enough for the whole of
bottom half of sliders) Set top half aside.
• Spread butter on the bottom half of the
sliders then evenly spread the scrambled
eggs.
• Sprinkle the bacon on the eggs fallowed by
the spinach leaves.
• Sprinkle grated cheese, then sprinkle black
pepper and salt on top and then butter the
inside of the top sliders and carefully place
them on the top.
• Melt butter and brush it on the top of the
sliders and bake them for 10- 15 minutes or
until the cheese is melted.
• Cut them and serve.
TIP: Sliders can be prepared a day ahead and
popped in the oven before serving.
FISH SLIDERS
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 - pack of sliders (There are 8 in one pack)
• 2 - salmon, big fillets
• 1/2tsp - red chilli powder
• 1tsp salt
• 1 - lemon
• 2tbsp - gherkin relish
• 1/2cup - mayonnaise
• Tartar sauce for dressing
• 3tbsp - butter
• Lettuce and shredded salad (Any that you
like)
METHOD:
• Wash salmon and cut into pieces.
• Sprinkle red chilli powder, salt and squeeze
half of lemon on the salmon and keep aside.
• Slice sliders buns in half, horizontally.
• Heat the frying pan, add 1 tablespoon of
butter and let it melt on the high flame then
place the bottom sliders cut side down in a
frying pan and cook for 1-2 minute or until
toasted, remove and in the same pan add
another 1 tablespoon of butter and toast the
other half of the sliders. Keep aside.
• Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in the same
frying pan again to a medium flame.
• Place both the fillets in the pan and cook
the salmon for a minutes on each side or
until cooked through. Remove the salmon
into a plate.
• Take mayonnaise in a bowl, add gherkin
relish and mix well.
• Take the bottom half of the sliders in a
serving plate.
• Spread tartar sauce on the sliders then
place the salmon and squeeze the other half
of the lemon on it.
• Spoon mayonnaise on the salmon followed
by lettuce and then top it up with other half
of the sliders.
• Serve.
CHICKEN SLIDERS
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 - pack of sliders
• 2cups - chicken, shredded (Rotisserie
chicken)
• 2 - red onions
• 6 - yellow cheddar cheese slices
• Butter to spread
TO MAKE A SAUCE:
• 2tbsp - sriracha sauce
• 4tbsp - mayonnaise (Japanese mayonnaise)
• 11/2 tbsp - tomato ketchup
• 11/2tbsp - mustard sauce
• 11/2tbsp - Gherkin relish
METHOD
• Preheat the oven to 180 degrees c.
• Slice the sliders in half lengthwise (Without
breaking the slider apart). Place the bottom
half of the sliders in a greased baking pan
or dish approximately 23cm to 33cm (big
enough for the whole of bottom half of
sliders) Set top half aside.
• Spread some butter on the bottom half of
the slider and then spread shredded chicken
on it.
• Peel, wash and slice the onions and sprinkle
them on the chicken.
• Mix all the ingredients of the sauce in a
bowl and evenly spoon them on top of the

baking pan or dish approximately 23cm to
33cm (big enough for the whole of bottom

the sliders.
• Mix chicken with salt and red chilli flakes
then layer evenly on the mayonnaise.
• Place mozzarella cheese slices on the
chicken then spread basal leaves on top.
• Spread aioli on the other half of the sliders
and place them carefully on the top.
• Brush melted butter over the top of the
sliders.
• Bake them for 10-15 min mutes in the
oven.
• Serve warm.
GREEN CHUTNEY SLIDERS
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 - pack of sliders
• 2cups - chicken shredded (Rotisserie
chicken)
• 6 - yellow cheddar cheese slices
• Butter to spread
FOR GREEN CHUTNEY
• 4 - green chillies
• 3 - garlic cloves
• 1/2cup - mint leaves
• 1/2cup - coriander leaves
• 1 - lemon
• 1/2tsp - salt
• 8tbsp - mayonnaise
METHOD
• Preheat the oven to 180 degrees c.
• Slice the sliders in half lengthwise,
horizontally (Without breaking the sliders
apart). Place the bottom half of the sliders in
a greased baking pan or dish approximately
23cm to 33cm (big enough for the whole of
bottom half of sliders) Set top half aside.
• In a grinder add washed green chillies,
peeled and washed garlic, washed mint and
coriander leaves and squeeze lemon. Grind
it all together into a paste and remove it
into a bowl.
• Add mayonnaise to the green chutney and
mix well, season it according to your taste.

then spoon the green chutney on top of the
chicken.
• Place cheese slices on the chicken.
• Spread butter on the other half of the sliders
and place them carefully on the top.

• Serve warm.
TIP; left over tandoori chicken can also be
used.
LAMB SLIDERS
INGREDIENTS:
• 400gm - lamb mince
• 1 - onion, medium
• 3 - garlic cloves
• 1 - green chilli
• 1/2tsp - cumin powder
• 1/2tsp - garam masala powder
• 1/2tsp - salt
• 2tbsp - oil
• Garlic aioli
FOR THE SAUCE
• 1cup - Greek yoghurt
• 2tsp - garlic powder
• 1tsp - cumin powder
• 1tbsp - dried parsley
• 1tbsp - lemon juice
• Salt and black pepper according to taste
METHOD:
• Preheat the oven to 180 degrees c.
• Slice the sliders in half lengthwise,
horizontally (Without breaking the sliders
apart). Place the bottom half of the sliders in
a greased baking pan or dish approximately
23cm to 33cm (big enough for the whole of
bottom half of sliders) Set top half aside.
• In a medium bowl add all the ingredients
of the sauce, mix well and keep aside for
dressing.
• Peel and wash the onion and garlic, wash
the green chilli; corse grind everything
then remove it into a bowl.
• Add lamb mince to the onion mixture, mix
well and then add cumin powder, garam
masala powders and salt, mix well again.
• Form the lamb mixture into 8 meatballs
and then flatten the lamb meat balls slightly
to to create 1 inch thick patties. Let sit for
30 minutes for the flavours to combine.
• Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan to
a medium flame and cook the patties for
3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked
through.
