Dr Anton Jayasuriya Institute Of Alternative Medicine was duly established in January 1999 with
blessings of Our Guru Prof Dr Sir Anton Jayasuriya, during World congress in Mumbai India, in
presence of many hundred delegates and office bearers of the university as well as dignitaries from
many countries of the world.

As per my guru’s directives I teach as and when student enrolls for this course. I even teach one
student at a time if such is the demand. I have a small clinic in Nasik and teach in clinic with plenty of
practical training and clinic based firsthand experience.

I am in process of starting a bigger Institute set up in Goa. It will have free treatment facility for all
the patients. This will allow the students to get many patients to learn by observation and for post
training internship.

There are many types of Acupuncture practiced all over the world. I plan to visit 65 countries and see
how the Acupuncture is taught and practiced. Till now I visited 14 countries.

My Guru Prof Dr Sir Anton Jayasuriya was greatest teacher of Acupuncture. He learned the entire
system of Acupuncture as was taught to him in China. He had many great teachers from China and
Korea. He was also trained by Felix Mann The German Acupuncturist from England who devised the

My Guru Prof Dr sir Anton Jayasuriya was greatest Acupuncture teacher ever. Acupuncture
though famous as Chinese method of treatment, has its origin in Indian Marma Shashtra, the
ancient warfare technique. Acupuncture is very complicated system and needs many years of
learning to really be competent practitioner. Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on many
ancient theories and beliefs and concepts. These are very difficult to understand by non
Chinese people.
When my Guru was sent by Government of Sri Lanka to china to learn acupuncture, he
decided to modify the whole science into an “ easy to learn method”. He thus devised
scientific Acupuncture method. He taught this method to more than 25000 students in The
open International University of Complimentary medicine in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
He successfully treated thousands of patients absolutely free for 43 years. He died in 2005. I
was his favorite student and was always around him in my training period. I thus had
opportunity to observe and learn more than any of other students. He also kept on telling me
tips for further study and development.
Now I may be only one who can systematically teach Dr Anton Jayasuriya’s Method of
Acupuncture. I may be only Acupuncturist, who have treated more than 200000 patients with
near 100% results in last 46 years of practice.
Some of my credits are as below
Bachelor of Science with honors from Bombay University.
Bachelor of Communication & Journalism From University of Pune.( Merit Student.)

Bachelor of Electropathy System of Medicine.

Chartered Fellow of” Indian Academy of Juvenile& Adolescent Gynacology and obstetrics.”

Full training in acupuncture for

qualified physicians
This training programme is designed for qualified physicians (modern Western
medicine) who wish to practise acupuncture independently, treating the various
conditions for which patients are commonly treated by acupuncture
practitioners.
Qualified physicians who already have adequate knowledge and skills in
modern Western medicine, would only need to follow the Core Syllabus for
acupuncture. The theoretical course could be shortened, as qualified physicians
can learn traditional medicine more easily than those with no prior medical
education. The course is comprise of formal training,
including adequate practical and clinical work.
On completion of the course and after passing an official examination,
participants should be entitled to practise acupuncture in various fields of
medicine where it is indicated.

Limited training in acupuncture for

qualified physicians
1 Basic Training
Shorter training courses would be suitable for qualified physicians (and certain
other graduates) who wish to become competent in acupuncture as a form of
therapy in modern Western clinical practice (or as a subject for scientific
research).
For them, a brief introduction to traditional acupuncture (derived from the Core
Syllabus) would probably suffice, and the training would then be largely
orientated to the use of acupuncture in modern Western medicine.
The course is comprise of formal training, and include the following components:
1. Introduction to traditional Chinese acupuncture
2. Acupuncture points
· Location of the classical points on the 14 meridians and the
extraordinary points.
· Alphanumeric codes and names, classifications of points, direction
and depth of insertion of needles, actions and indications of the
Commonly Used Points selected for Basic Training.
3. Applications of acupuncture in modern Western medicine
· Principal clinical conditions in which acupuncture has been shown to
be beneficial.
· Selection of patients and evaluation of progress/benefit.
· Planning of treatment, selection of points and methods of needle
manipulation, and use of medication or other forms of therapy
concurrently with acupuncture.
4. Guidelines on safety in acupuncture
5. Treatment techniques
· General principles.
· Specific clinical conditions.
On completion of the course and after passing an official examination,
participants will be able to integrate acupuncture into their clinical
work or speciality.
2 Special courses
Some physicians or dental surgeons might wish to acquire proficiency in certain
specific applications of acupuncture (for example, pain relief, or dental or
obstetric analgesia) and for them flexibility would be needed in designing special
courses adapted to their particular areas of interest.
3 Advanced training
Physicians or other health personnel who have satisfactorily completed a "short"
course of basic training might wish to pursue their training at an advanced level,
in which case suitable courses would have to be "tailor-made" to meet their
needs.
Training for Diploma in Acupuncture will be given on one-to-one basis in the clinic along
with the practical training and practice.
The fee for Diploma course is US$6000 to be paid in advance.
The diploma will be granted from KAATSU International University.
The students will refer to the following book only.
Clinical Acupuncture By Prof Dr Sir Anton Jayasuriya.
