Background of the study

Why do we need the project?

To cater the demand for specialize training and education with access to modern technology to
potential students and to promote the importance of these professions in relation to the growth of the
city by providing future skilled professionals the opportunity to experience a competitive yet
enthusiastic side of the profession.

BASIS OF THE DEMAND

1. Untapped opportunities

With the rise of the new curriculum senior highschool last year 2018 according to DepEd produced 9499
graduates in Zamboanga city alone. With 19% of them were STEM graduates. Which is a total of 1804
potential architecture, engineering students.

2. Recognition of the city

According to the above text from the (Master development plan of Zamboanga city). That it has also
been recognize that there is a need for a private college or university that shall hail outside of the main
CBD due to its highly dense state.

Background of the study

Why do we need the project?

To exploit the God given gifts our cities have (beaches, lakes or rivers) that will serve as an icon in
sustainable design in our city and to promote Zamboanga city as a tourist destination to further
generate income and recognition for the city while preserving its natural surroundings and existing
marine life.

Tourism is a vital contributor to the growth of our economy, it attracts potential investors, it
provides people thousands of jobs and more importantly is also one of the best way to involve
preservation of the environment since it is recognize as the Bread and butter of an eco-resort which will
require them to work to help the local environment.

The project will also serve as an example for awareness on sustainable development and design.
And will serve as a reminder that we should not only design towards economic value but instead
consider environmental factors as well, which is only right since our economic system resides within our
environmental system. To raise awareness and to take part on lowering the ecological foot print of our
planet.

By further increasing from 723,000 of tourist arrivals in the city it will also show that our city is
progressing and has recovered from peace and order issues and will finally enhance the image of the city
by removing the concept of an unstable peace.
