ABSTRACT

The goal of the Department of Education to improve quality of

education with its K to 12 Curriculum continues to be one of the biggest
challenges for most educators. ………..

INTRODUCTION

The K to 12 Science Curriculum aligned with the Department of

Education vision - mission ensures that student’s educational experience
is relevant and forward - looking. …………………………

Statement of the Problem

This study sought to assess the effectiveness of Reflection Kit as

a strategic intervention material in increasing mastery level in the topic
Reflection of Light for selected Grade 10 students of Muntinlupa Business
High School.

Specifically, it aimed to answer the question:

Does the use of Reflection Kit as strategic intervention material
increase student’s mastery level over the learner’s module prescribed by
the Department of Education in the topic Reflection of Light?

Hypotheses

This study ordeal the null hypotheses below:

Scope and Delimitations of the Study

This study used an experimental research design to assess the

effectiveness of Reflection Kit as a strategic intervention material to

transfer knowledge in the topic Reflection of Light to selected Grade 10
students of Muntinlupa Business High School of school year 2016 - 2017
……….

METHOD

A. Selection of the Topic

Reflection of Light emerged to be one of the least mastered

topics in the summative assessment of Unit II of the learner’s module.
Students failed to answer the question……….

B. Selection of the Respondents

Grade 10 students from sections 1 to 5 of Muntinlupa Business

High School who failed to answer on item questions about Reflection of
Light that fell on the least mastered skills of the summative assessment
of Unit II of the learner’s module were the subjects of study. One hundred

C. Assessing the Validity of SIM as an Effective Remedial Material

Six (6) teachers validated the SIM as an effective remedial

material based from the acquisition strategies and concept routines for
concept enhancement adopted from the journal, “The Strategies
Intervention Model: A Model for Supported Inclusion at the Secondary
Level” by Tralli, et. al (2006). Furthermore, the content str…..
