LIFE EDUCATION VAN

Life Education has been visiting our school for many years and is always a highlight of
the children’s year, and helps to facilitate the development of the life skills in students
to prevent and minimise the harm of drug misuse.

Lessons are always age appropriate and the children will be covering a wide range of
drug and health related topics, ranging from the human body and how it works,
healthy eating and nutrition, medicines and drugs, bullying, resilience and social
skills. Healthy Harold, the much loved Life Education giraffe mascot is always a much
anticipated element of the Life Education visit. The sessions are always fun,
interactive and really extend and develop the children’s understanding of the topics
covered.

As a charity, Life Education relies heavily on the generosity of local organisations to

keep its fleet of mobile classrooms on the road delivering positive health and life
messages to over 200,000 children in Victoria alone.

When: TUESDAY 10TH – WEDNESDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER

Cost: $10 which covers 50% of the actual cost. (this activity is covered by the
excursion levy)

CIRCUS DRESS REHEARSAL

To prepare the students for their performance of ‘Under the Big Top’, we will be having
a full day dress rehearsal.

When: Monday 16th September

Time: 8:45am for a 9am departure. Returning at 3pm.
Cost: FREE
Where: Karralyka Theatre, Mines Road, Ringwood East

PUBLICITY CONSENT - As the dress rehearsal and the two night performances will
be videoed, a publicity consent form is required to be signed by Parents.

REQUIREMENTS - All children will need to bring - a snack, lunch, drink and jacket.
There is no facility for buying lunch at the theatre.

COSTUMES - Most children will come dressed in costume to the theatre. However those
children changing at the theatre will require a named bag to put clothes in.

MAKE-UP - On the dress rehearsal day and the actual performance nights, we ask that
the students do not wear make-up as their stage make-up will be applied back stage
before the performances.

Parents are most welcome to attend any of these activities. Just let the class teacher
know beforehand if you plan to attend. Space on the bus may be limited so you may
need to make your own way there.

Thank you
