Term 3 is another busy term and we have incorporated all of the excursion/incursion
information on one form for your convenience. The following activities require
permission and are covered by the excursion levy. FORM AND PAYMENT IS DUE
BY FRIDAY 19th JULY
SILLY SCIENCE
The first incursion, Silly Science, involves our students working in small groups to
complete a number of exciting science experiments. Students will be encouraged to
make predictions, hypothesis and record their findings.
TINKERING
The second Science incursion, Tinkering, is devised to get students thinking about
how things around us work through experimentation and exploration.
Lessons are always age appropriate and the children will be covering a wide range of
drug and health related topics, ranging from the human body and how it works,
healthy eating and nutrition, medicines and drugs, bullying, resilience and social
skills. Healthy Harold, the much loved Life Education giraffe mascot is always a much
anticipated element of the Life Education visit. The sessions are always fun,
interactive and really extend and develop the children’s understanding of the topics
covered.
To prepare the students for their performance of ‘Under the Big Top’, we will be having
a full day dress rehearsal.
PUBLICITY CONSENT - As the dress rehearsal and the two night performances will
be videoed, a publicity consent form is required to be signed by Parents.
REQUIREMENTS - All children will need to bring - a snack, lunch, drink and jacket.
There is no facility for buying lunch at the theatre.
COSTUMES - Most children will come dressed in costume to the theatre. However those
children changing at the theatre will require a named bag to put clothes in.
MAKE-UP - On the dress rehearsal day and the actual performance nights, we ask that
the students do not wear make-up as their stage make-up will be applied back stage
before the performances.
Parents are most welcome to attend any of these activities. Just let the class teacher
know beforehand if you plan to attend. Space on the bus may be limited so you may
need to make your own way there.
Thank you
