1) Tell me about yourself

I am Kejal Jhaveri and I was born and brought up in Mumbai. I have worked at
PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Analyst in Cyber security consulting department for 22
months. In my work experience, I have had a great exposure dealing with multiple clients and
assessing the cyber security posture of the organization. I completed my Computer Engineering
from D.J. Sanghvi College of Engineering, which pushed my limits to understand the significance of
technology and its impact on organizations. I also have a knack for contributing back to the society,
which led me to be a part of various social events conducted in my undergraduate university. I am a
strong believer in maintaining work ethics and like to make sure that I complete my tasks with
utmost sincerity. Other than academics, my hobbies include dancing and listening to music.

2) Why MBA?

Two years into consulting, I soon enough realised that this is a very dynamic and challenging
industry, and at some point in time when you start interacting with clients, not having an MBA
becomes a deterrent on some levels, so it is helpful to do an MBA to get a deeper organisation
understanding on the business side and advise more confidently to executive level leadership. Also, I
wanted some work experience before joining MBA because it helps you to appreciate the program a
lot better and apply MBA skills to my day-to-day working as well.

3) What are your short term and long term professional goals? OR Where do you see
yourself in 5/10 years?

Short term: My short term goals after joining the organisation would be to gain maximum
knowledge of the domain, enhance my skills, adapt quickly to the environment and start generating
value for the company as quickly as possible.
While the short-term goal can be achieved within the initial years, my long term goals are related to
my personal development. I want to see myself stepping up and taking bigger roles and
responsibilities. I would like to see myself as a leader and an excellent mentor to my peers
and juniors.

4) What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Strengths:
● Quick Learner
● Team player
● Time management

Weakness:
● Delay in decision making
● Not adept at public speaking

5) Mention situations where you used these strengths

When I joined my organisation as a fresher, I had no prior domain knowledge of the cyber security
projects. At that time, my team had to share the deliverables within a stringent timeline
with limited resources in place and needed me to assist the team with the ongoing project.
So, I quickly adapted to the fast paced situation, started learning from my colleagues along
with understanding what my team does in short span of time and were able to deliver within
the timeline. As our journey continued, we were able to get more projects from the client
and I also achieved team player award in my firm.

6) Mention what approaches you took to overcome your weaknesses

In the initial days of my work experience, I was quite mindful about the consequences of myself not
meeting the expectations of the organization. To avoid this, I’ve started being more proactive in
taking inputs from my peers and seniors and incorporating those decisions in my work. With this
approach, I was able to better understand how my work arena functions which in turn improved my
decision making abilities.
Introvert is a personality trait which I have carried right from the start. During school and college
times, I used to always be this conserved kid. But slowly, I realised the importance of
communicating and networking outside your closed circle. This is even more needed in an
MBA college. I am trying to overcome this by communicating more, with new individuals
and also pro-actively volunteering in lectures for public speaking.

7) What is your greatest professional/personal achievement till date?

In my professional career, I had to manage a project for a U.S based financial institution, wherein
gathering client requirements, planning the project execution, training my juniors when they were
relatively new to the project to make them understand what are the client's expectations and
reporting project status to the clients on a daily basis was handled by myself.
In my undergraduate years, I organised an event to teach Dance to young underprivileged students
in a Municipal school, wherein complete planning and execution of the event was handled by me,
and I also managed a few volunteers in successfully conducting the complete event.

8) Why should we hire you? OR What will you bring to the table?

Over the years, I have acquired relevant skills and experience, which I shall bring to your
organization. It’s not just my background in the past projects, but also my people skills, which will be
applicable in this position. On the other hand, I am a dedicated person and I try to exceed my
superior’s expectations with high-quality work. Being a fast learner, I quickly pick up the key points
related to projects. I have given my 100% effort in my past companies, and this has enabled me to
recognize my capabilities and limitations. If I channelize them further, they will bring fruitful results
to me and also to your esteemed organization. Lastly, I would like to add that I work well both as an
individual contributor and also as a team member. Collectively, all these skills put together makes
me a complete package for this job.

9) Why should we not hire you?

I believe that there is no reason for not hiring me, but if you are looking for someone who is
expected to be in the office for 12 hours without work, just to fill in the man-hours requirement,
then you shouldn't hire me, as work-life balance is of utmost importance to me. I would like to work
efficiently and complete it within time rather than sitting idle and stretching my work hours.

10) What are your hobbies/interests? Why didn’t you pursue them professionally?

I am passionate about dance. I think it is the way to express yourself and whenever I feel elated,
boredom, or even when nervousness kicks in, I like to dance in a closed environment, so that no one
can see my madness. Dancing is my hobby and I don't think that I can dance at a professional level
to earn a living out of it, as I am not great at it. But due to my knack for technology, I can assure you
that I am good enough to earn my living in the technology sector.

11) Do you believe that only an MBA can do managerial/administrative work? Are
engineers not capable enough to do it?
I believe that even engineers are capable enough to do managerial/administrative work. I have
examples in my family who are engineers and also great managers, who have achieved great
successes in their respective fields. Having said that, doing an MBA surely helps in
enhancing your skills, boost your confidence to deal with executive level leadership. It not
just gives you formal learning in management, but also has long term benefits because MBA
shapes your personality to think as a manager in every situation. Other than this, an MBA
could improve credibility, communication skills, that will give you a holistic view, improve
strategic thinking and boost career in the long run.
