COMPETITION FACT SHEET

Get on the rock! with Honda City


Rock Climbing Competition in support of Advancement in Life

INTRODUCTION – OPEN CATEGORY

1. Competition is open to everyone including non-climbers (see 1.0 for


eligibility).
2. Competitors are to complete as many top-roped routes as possible.
3. Competitors will be awarded points based on vertical height, in meters,
of each successful route climbed. Points are based on a 1:1 ratio within
the two hours.
4. Routes height varies from wall to wall.
5. Competitors will participate in a team of two (2).
6. All routes may be climbed more than once but not to be repeated
immediately.
7. Teams are to strategize and manage the intervals of climb, rest and
refuel.

1.0 ELIGIBILITY
1. Short-listed participants under the Open Category would have to attend
a Complimentary Basic Wall Course before the finals in December.
2. Competitors must be 21 years and above.
3. Malaysian only.

3.0 HOW TO PARTICIPATE

1. Next, sign up and fill in your particulars, along with your teammate’s if you are
competing in the Open Category.
2. Submit ONE (1) wall-climbing photo of yourself along with a caption. Tell us
which Honda City quality do you embody in your chosen photo.
3. Get your friends and family to vote for your photo in order to qualify for the
finale.
4. 25 most voted teams will be short-listed for the finals.
5. Short-listed teams will participate in a 2-hour endurance race where the team
that covers the most mileage will be the winner.
INTRODUCTION – PRO CLIMBER CATEGORY

1. Competition is open to everyone aged 21 years and above with


minimum climbing grade of 6C (see 1.0 for eligibility)
2. Top 20 short-listed individuals will participate in 2 rounds: Qualification
and Finals.
3. Qualifier: During the qualifier, competitors are divided into 4 groups.
Each competitor must climb only one particular route on the Sentinel
Wall (with a total of 4 routes for 4 groups).
4. Finals: Climbers will take turns to climb the 'El Cap' wall, the wall
featured in 'Best-In-Class'.
5. After each round of the competition, the competitors will be ranked and
the highest rank competitor wins.

1. Competitors must be 21 years and above.
2. Malaysian only.
3. Minimum climbing grade of 6C.

3.0 HOW TO PARTICIPATE

1. Submit FOUR (4) wall-climbing photos that best embody all four qualities of
the Honda City followed by a caption that explains all four shots.
2. Tell us in less than 30 words in a slogan: To me, advancement in life
means……..
3. Get your friends and family to vote.
4. 20 most voted individuals will proceed to the finals.
