2 New Features
This is an update to the next generation of the Merlin tool. Merlin 3.6.1 continues now to provide 
support for early DragonWave product and includes updates to the support of the Next Generation 
Harmony product line. (Harmony Enhanced, Harmony Eband and Harmony Enhanced MC).  
 
All Files created with Merlin now conform to:

This software release of Merlin supports the following updated functions:

 System Info and Diagnostics Information Retrieval
o Diagnostics Report, PMON Statistics, Events Log, Performance Log, and the
system ‘running-config’ file and where allowed the system Debug Files.
o Added support for CLI retrieval of Log Files in Diagnostics utility when FTP
method not available.
o Support for the following has been added.

o Limited file download support (logs and running‐config) for

 VLAN Utility – Loading of Pre-Configured VLAN Setup (Eband/Enhanced only)
o Currently Supports enabling/disabling all VLANs on all ports.
o Allows enabling all VLANs on select ports.
 VLAN Configurations – Select VLAN Ranges and Member/Untagged Ports
 Discovery
o Allows Discovery for Horizon Compact, Horizon Duo, Horizon Compact+,
Harmony Enhanced, Harmony Eband, and Harmony Enhanced MC.
o Allows Detailed Discovery for Horizon Compact+, Harmony Enhanced,
Harmony Eband, and Harmony Enhanced MC.
 Reset
o Utility to update the IPL currently active, to Factory Default the unit, to Default
only the Management Interface and to Default the Management VLAN
o All options except ‘Reset Web Services’ require Customer Support to supply
‘Reset Key’ file to authorize utility.
 Network Monitoring

o Provides a simple SNMP utility that can be setup to ‘poll’ via SNMP equipment
and record polling responses.
o This utility is directed at DragonWave equipment and is designed to poll specific
functions (i.e. RSL levels, SNR, EQ Stress etc.)
o The utility can poll any device that supports SNMP and is configured to allow
Merlin to poll it. (only availability will be reported if Merlin does not recognize
the device)
 Syslog Daemon
o Provides a simple Syslog Daemon that will monitor a given port (default 514) for
any incoming Syslog messages and will record these messages in separate
files based on event and device.
 Ping
o Provides a simple Ping utility.
 Batch Commands
o Provides a method to enter a list of commands (typed directly or loaded from a
text file) and direct these commands towards multiple or single devices.
o Added ‘wizard start’, ‘wizard stop’ function to Batch mode to allow for CLI
wizard entries.
