Invitation
It is an immense pleasure for Animal Nutrition Society of India to cordially invite you in its
XVIII Biennial Conference, 2019 (INCAN 2019) on the theme “Nutritional Strategies for Im-
proving Farm Profitability and Clean Animal Production” being held at Kolkata during 17 to 19
December, 2019. Livestock sectors plays a very important role in the economics, social and
nutritional well being of people in the developing country, which often figure as an important
component in rural development and poverty alleviation. Yet productivity of livestock and per
capita availability of animal products are not at par with developed countries. There is scope
for large scale improvement in productivity, quality of animal products and economic return
from livestock farming. As feed cost alone comprises 70% of the total recurring expenditure
of livestock farming, it is imperative to say that the productivity and profitability of livestock
farming cannot be improved without balanced feeding and improved nutrition. Whilst number
of technologies pertaining to improvement in utilization of conventional feed resources is
available on hand, advantages of modern biotechnological tools must be reaped in order to
maximize benefits. The quest for novel feed additives and nutraceuticals should be continued
so as to improve health, welfare and productivity of animals. A better understanding of the
roles of micronutrients in metabolism, unveiling the underlying molecular basis and judicious
application of these micronutrients under field condition would be of paramount importance
to improve livestock productivity and profitability of livestock farming. Finally, present day
animal production system can no way ignore the carbon footprint that they leave behind,
thus all technologies that are developed should be clean and safe. The theme of the present
conference was developed to address the above issues. Number of eminent Academicians,
Scientists, Scholars, Students, Policy makers Industrialist, Entrepreneurs and Farmers are
likely to attend the conference from India and abroad. A series of theme talks, technical ses-
sions, and round tables will be delivered during the conference.
Venue
The venue of the conference will be at Biswa Bangal
Convention Centre (BBCC), New Town, Kolkata, West
Bengal, India. The BBCC is one of the largest conven-
tion centers in South Asia and has many quality hotels
around.
Travel
Kolkata, the city of joy, is well connected to major cit-
ies of India by road, railway and air. The venue of the
conference (BBCC, New Town) is 7 km from Kolkata
Airport, 25 km from Howrah Railway Station and 14 km
from Sealdah and Kolkata Railway Stations. You can
avail one of the cab services such as City Yellow Taxi,
Ola, Uber to reach the destination.
Accommodation
All the accommodations will be arranged for delegates
in private hotels close to venue on payment basis. All
the delegates are free to make their own accommoda-
tion. The organizer will arrange University and Govern-
ment guest houses for retired professionals and SAU
teachers on first cum first serve basis. Payments to
private hotels have to be done directly to the respective

scholars will be provided accommodation in hostels on
prior request only with minimum charges.
Weather
Weather in the month of December in Kolkata is
pleasant, the average temperature usually ranges 13
to 27oC. Delegates are requested to carry adequate
woolen clothes.
Technical Sessions
The symposium will be conducted for three days and
will be comprised of key note addresses, lead papers
and technical sessions for oral and poster presenta-
tions.
Abstract Submission
All the participants from India as well as abroad are
requested to submit their abstract (in extended for-
mat) not exceeding 800 words through website
(http://www.incan2019.com). The abstract should be
on original research work related to the above thematic
areas for oral and poster presentation. The last date for
abstract submission is 15th November, 2019. Authors
will be informed for the type of presentation (oral/post-
er) shortly after submission.

Delegates are invited to register through online registration system (http://www.incan2019.com). The reg-
istration fees may be remitted through website (online payment gateway) or to A/C 774802010003539 in the
name of INCAN 2019 maintained with the Union Bank of India (IFSC Code: UBIN0577481), Belgachia, 68, K

appear in the NEFT transaction receipt so as to enable the easy reconciliation of the individual payment.
