Granite worktops and quartz worktops are among the most popular types of worktops
in kitchens and bathrooms today. Aside from the obvious aesthetic appeal that they
offer, they have also done a lot to prove that they can last longer than ordinary
worktops. As such, people can’t wait to get their hands on granite worktops and quartz
worktops of their own. And, while this may be a favorable decision that would certainly
bring in a lot of benefits, it still pays to reconsider the decision for a while and take the
time to step back and think about what you can do to ensure that the process would go
smoothly and end successfully for you.
First, consider how often you would be using bathroom and kitchen worktops made out
of granite or quartz so that you can aptly decide over which type would be best suited
to your lifestyle. Next, plan the look and feel that you want the kitchen or the
bathroom to have. Granite worktops are very distinctive, and no two slabs could ever
look exactly the same. This would work best for you if you are the type who wants to
have something different going on every few feet. On the other hand, quartz worktops
would be ideal for you if you’re trying to harmonies the overall look and feel of the
room.
In addition, you should think about the amount of maintenance that you’re willing to
go to after you have the worktops installed. Granite can get damaged if you used the
wrong sort of cleaner, and it requires resealing every few years to help preserve it.
Quartz, though, is a non-porous material that requires no sealing to maintain its shape.
It’s also more straightforward to clean quartz worktops than it does with granite
worktops.
