Company Requirements

Faster connectivity to the internet

Improved connectivity speeds are essential to the growth of Company . The current technology in place
Will not handle the future increase in traffic. With the growth of the Warkworth operations increasing to near 30 staff in due
time, the need for this increase is vital. The current setup is not adequate enough for Company ’s needs.

Increased international Capacity

Due to the international nature of Company s business, there is a real need for larger capacity for international bandwidth.
Sending large design files, various media and other services; add this to the future growth of staff and limitations of the current
system are obvious.

Symmetrical internet connection

The need to have a Symmetrical connection into the Company office is very important.

Fibre vs. Copper

Fibre is the most stable, reliable and high capacity media for data communication. Around the world, it’s replacing the
legacy copper networks operated by traditional telcos.

Copper has been at the heart of telecommunications for over 120 years. It’s a testament to the ingenuity of telco engineers that its
data capacity has been pushed to DSL2 speeds, but copper is fast reaching its maximum potential.
But where copper stops, fibre starts. Fibre gives you a “true bandwidth” connection. If you buy a 10Mbit/s connection, for example,
10Mbit/s is exactly what you’ll get, 24/7. It doesn’t matter how far away from the exchange you are, or how busy the network
becomes - you’ll be getting a rock-steady 10Mbit/s in both directions.

Of course, most copper-based network suppliers use Fibre as their network backbone. But they’re stuck with copper for the “last
mile” of their network. So with that bottleneck in place, it doesn’t matter that there’s a high capacity network behind the scenes.
Your connection - and your business - is limited to what you can squeeze through the copper link.

The Orcon Fibre network has no copper component. We run Fibre all the way to your door, giving you access to the full potential of
the fibre network. This means virtually no congestion, contention or limitations to capacity. The bandwidth you buy is the
bandwidth you can rely on, all the time.
ORCON FIBRE CONNECTION PROPOSAL

SIP Trunks
A Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunk is a direct connection from a client-side PABX to Orcon’s telephone network
which carries multiple voice channels over a dedicated fibre, frame relay or Unbundled Network Service (UNS)
connection. This connection is made entirely over a data network reducing infrastructure costs and ignoring the
limitations of the old copper networks.

The HiQ8000 is New Zealand’s most advanced soft switch. This state of the art voice soft switch has enabled Orcon to
launch its SIP Trunk service which is used to deliver voice traffic over a dedicated internet connection with the same call
quality levels as traditional analogue and ISDN landlines.
Orcon’s SIP Trunk service is a cost effective alternative to a basic rate interface (BRI), or a primary rate interface (PRI).
With SIP Trunks you can maximize your current bandwidth by combining both voice and data traffic in a single
connection. Secure communication using Voice over IP (VOIP) over our network is an added advantage.

Benefits
COST EFFECTIVE
• SIP Trunks eliminate the need to purchase expensive BRI’s and PRI’s.
• Existing bandwidth can be used to support the voice traffic.
• Unlimited free local calling.
• Access to competitive national, international and land to mobile toll rates.
• Businesses may save at least 40-50% on their monthly bill by deploying a SIP
• Trunk connection.

SCALABLE AND FLEXIBLE

• Total cost of operation (TCO) is reduced as SIP Trunks can be purchased one at a time depending on your
requirements.
• Your bandwidth is maximized by combining the voice and data traffic on a single connection.

RELIABILITY
• High voice quality is maintained.
• Quality of service (QoS) is controlled and guaranteed over our network.
