How Six Sigma Became Popular?

1986: Bill Smith, a senior engineer and


scientist, at Motorola, introduces the
concept of Six Sigma, in their pager
production line.
1994: Larry Bossidy launched Six Sigma
at Allied Signal, and used it across their
organization.

1995: Jack Welch launched Six Sigma at


GE. He mandated its use across all lines of
