What’s New in TeamMate 11.0?

November 2014
What’s New in TeamMate 11?
Significant new features have been added to the TeamMate Suite since the release of 10.0. While these
enhancements were needed to keep pace with the most commonly requested features of our user
community, the stretch of these new features now requires us to re-baseline with existing and core
competencies of TeamMate.
R11.0 brings a new text editor that better supports the daily actions of users such as copy/paste from
other sources and ensures that formatting is more consistently applied.
TeamTalk workflow and sign offs has been redesigned with significant and direct input from our User
Community.
Efficiency enhancements such as copy timesheet and other small changes to TeamTEC ensure that
ancillary activities can be done as quickly as possible so users have more time to dedicate to other
activities.
For larger groups, R11.0 includes the ability to partition Audit Plans and Projects, which provides an
added security layer when you need to segregate different client data, special projects, or if your
organization has separate legal entities.

Editor Enhancements
The text Editor used in TeamEWP and other modules has been replaced to improve stability and
support the text actions users expect. This platform upgrade provides browser, browser version and
Microsoft Word independence which means actions like copy/paste are straight forward.
Key differences include:
• Formatting ribbon is in the field not the application ribbon – this allows quicker access to
formatting and for both an (application) action ribbon and the formatting ribbon to be visible
and accessible at the same time
• Format actions are available via the ribbon, right-mouse click or shortcut action
• Styles of fonts, bullets, etc. are still supported
• Table row and column sizing can be modified with drag-n-drop actions in the Editor rather than
requiring interaction with a table dialog (although still possible if preferred)
• View source options allow for viewing text in HTML or RTF to allow for more choice on
copy/paste actions
• Drag-n-drop work papers to the Refs tab or to text fields is again possible

Format ribbon appears at the

top of the editor window

Many styles of fonts and

bullets are supported

Spell check as you type with suggestions is also supported and allows users to “Add to Dictionary” if
they are not in the standard dictionary. 12 different languages and 30 different dictionaries are
supported and the dictionary used is selected based on your Windows settings.

If you wish to zoom in on the text shown in any text field, you can use the CTRL key on your keyboard
and scroll up (Zoom In) or down (Zoom Out) to increase/ decrease visible text size. This does not
change the font size itself.

TeamTalk Workflow
TeamTalk users requested workflow capabilities and TeamMate responded by adding Preparer and
Reviewer signoff capabilities. A note can be signed off as Prepared by the creator of the note, any
recipient assigned to the note, or the Project Owner. When signed off, the icon on the note indicates
signoff and the thread is stamped with the user that performed the signoff and the date and time.
Notes can now also have a state of Locked or Unlocked and a column has been added to show this
state. This essentially replaces the states of Closed or Open, therefore the state of Closed will no
longer appear in the Due Date column.

Occasionally users change their mind about signoffs and want to undo that action. R11.0 supports undo
of signoffs.

For ease of use, the View Note and Add Note have become distinct buttons on the ribbon. Also Project
Owners can add themselves to project and global notes and change the Title, Due Date, Prepare /
Review Signoffs, Lock / Unlock Status, Priority and Confidential properties of the note.
In addition, TeamTalk supports 125% and 150% DPI settings for those that want the text of a Note to be
larger on screen.
For clients converting from a release prior to 10.3, signoffs will be retained during the conversion
process on older notes.

TeamTEC Copy Timesheet & Other Efficiencies
In a recent poll, we learned that TeamTEC is the third most used module in TeamMate. Many
organizations use TeamTEC to record time and as a result, efficiencies like copy timesheet have
become a priority to keep teams working on what really matters.

No longer does time approval need to be held up due to one person’s schedule, now individuals can
have more than one person with the permission to approve their time and can receive an email
notification when time has been submitted.

In the Email Notifications section of TeamAdmin, a configuration option has been added to send a
notification email to approvers when they have time to approve. If the approver has multiple resources
to approve time for, the approver will only receive one email, which will contain a link taking the
approver directly to the timesheet approval screen.
The default number of rows in a new timesheet for projects, nonworking events, and administration
time can now be configured by making an update to the web.config file.

Data Partitions
Partitions allow the ability to set up a secure ‘container’ for:
• Client data (for consulting work)
• Special projects (where not everyone can view the information)
• Separate legal entities (where team separation is required but consolidated reporting is
desired)
Some of the key benefits are that risk assessments and projects can be segregated, project access is
restricted to only those assigned to the partition, and the business contacts are not visible for selection
of projects unless they specifically belong to the partition. Data partitioning extends through to Issue
Tracking and Reporting in TeamCentral.
Data partitioning can be applied to existing Audit Plans and projects, if this is a feature you plan to
use. If you want more information on what partitions can do for you, please contact your Sales or
Consulting representative.

Work Paper Hyperlink Updates

When opening a work paper, all the hyperlinks now check for updates to titles and status so that the
current information displays rather than the original information.
