Conclusion

In conclusion, students from the HUMSS Strand in section Integrity apply proper
waste disposal and proper waste segregation in their daily practices inside the
campus. The researchers found out that the awareness of the Grade 11 students is
somehow high due to their prior knowledge and the discussions of their teachers
but their waste segregation practice is low despite of the awareness and knowledge
they have. The researchers learned that they fail to apply their knowledge about
waste segregation. Thus, the researcher concluded that knowledge itself could
affect the actions of student with a very small chance and the knowledge of the
student is insufficient that affect their actions.
Recommendation

In the recommendations there are three ways, the easy, moderate and challenging.
First, add educational signs at each recycling and waste bin with pictures of
products frequently disposed at Davao Central College, Main Campus and increase
the number of recycling bins on campus to ensure a recycling bin is paired with
every landfill bin. Second, recruit a team for “Green Panthers” students who are
interested in helping educate the DCC community about environmental issues and
sustainable practices on campus. Lastly, mandatory campus-wide training for the
students about sustainable waste management practices during Wednesday
afternoon after class or monthly events. It would be a short-educational session on
how to dispose of waste and how impacts local systems.
