Website and Software Evaluation Reflection

ISTE Technology Facilitation (TF) Standards

Teaching, Learning, and the Curriculum. Educational technology facilitators apply and
implement curriculum plans that include methods and strategies for utilizing technology to
maximize student learning. Educational technology facilitators:

TF-III.A. Facilitate technology-enhanced experiences that address content standards

and student technology standards.
1. Assist teachers in evaluating websites and software that are aligned with content
standards and student technology standards.
2. Provide insight to teachers in technology systems, resources, and services that can be
integrated into content classrooms.

TF-III.B. Use technology to support learner-centered strategies that address the diverse
needs of students.
1. Evaluate websites and software that can be integrated into content classrooms to best
support diverse learners and student centered activities.
2. Model technology integration using resources that reflect content standards.

TF-III.C. Apply technology to demonstrate students' higher order skills and creativity.
1. Identify key technology resources and tools that can promote critical thinking,
mathematic reasoning, and procedural fluency as a result of technology integration.

TF-III.D. Manage student learning activities in a technology-enhanced environment.

1. Assist teachers in selecting and applying appropriate technology resources to promote
safe and healthy use of technology.

TF-III.E. Use current research and district/region/state/national content and technology

standards to build lessons and units of instruction.
1. Research various educational software and websites that support strong teaching
practices and pedagogy.
2. Provide alternative technology resources that support district/region/state/national
content and technology standards to support instruction.

Evidence/Reflection

The website and software evaluation projects are annotated bibliographies of educational
websites and software that can be used in the classroom. This paper illustrates and educates
readers on various mathematics applicable websites and software and how it can be useful in the
classroom. The criteria for evaluation authority, accuracy, currency, objectivity, and coverage.
The websites and software are effective in all the categories of these criteria and were described
how to be used in math classrooms to support technology-enhanced learning experiences. My
websites and software were evaluated by other educators and the feedback was described in the
paper. My work demonstrated through these evaluations address TF-III A, B, C, D, and E
because these evaluations assist teachers in evaluating the effectiveness and practicality of the
technology they will be using in their classroom.
