Your Honor,
My Name is Tami Scott I was a juror on the Pedro Silva Diaz trial Case 17CF2108, I had never served on a
jury , never been involved in a criminal issue and don’t recall even being in a court room. I had no idea what to
expect however I was committed to taking this matter and responsibility serious , and I did.
‘The experience was unsettling for me as | felt the evidence and witnesses presented to the Jury were not
adequate to substantiate the charges the State was charging Mr. Silva Diaz.
Over the weekend I learned that the Defense Attorney has made a motion to dismiss the case for
proprictorial misconduct. The defense is claiming the evidence shown to the Jury, specifically the videos from
the school were manipulated and or modified to the States advantage. I don’t know if this is true, I guess that is
your job to figure out. I do know this, if'a video exists showing other vehicles in and around that intersection
ihe outcome of the case would have been different. I agree the case should be dismissed.
FILED IN OPEN COURT
JUL 12 2019During Jury deliberation we discussed at length the school videos, we had more questions than answers.
42 cameras positioned around the school, why are we only seeing 2?
Why are we only seeing snippets of the videos?
Why are we not being shown several minutes before and several minutes after the incident?
Why no camera positioned to the crosswalk, at a school?
How do we know there were no other vehicles in the area at the time?
How do we know another vehicle did not hit the young man and the defendant simply ran over the bike
A
Knowing there is more to those videos than what the jury was shown is very troubling, I feel like I was duped.
How dare the State use me as one of their pawns, present me with manipulated evidences to decide to send
someone to prison. Indefensible.
I received a letter from Amira D. Fox acknowledging my commitment to serving on Mr. Silva Diaz jury, Ms.
Fox stated “ As your State Attorney, I can tell you that without your efforts our criminal justice system would
suffer irreparable harm and the noblest aspirations of our constitution would fall short. Ms, Fox is 100
percent correct, without my efforts and the efforts of other jurors in that deliberation room that questioned
something is not right, a young man could have been going to prison based on manipulated evidence present by
HER office.
‘Thank you for your time.
God Bless,
Tami Scott
