TYPE OF GUITAR

The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that usually has six strings and it is typically played with
both hands by strumming or plucking the strings with either a guitar pick or the finger. The guitar is
a type of chordophone, traditionally constructed from wood and strung with either gut, nylon or steel
strings and distinguished from other chordophones by its construction and tuning. The main parts of
a guitar are the body, the fretboard, the headstock and the strings. Guitars are used for many types
of music, from Classical to Rock. Most pieces of popular music that have been written since the
1950s are written with guitars. There are many different types of guitars, for example Acoustic
Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, etc. From all type of guitars, each of them have characteristics.
Depending on the interest of the user.

An acoustic guitar is a guitar that produces sound acoustically by transmitting the vibration of the
strings to the air. In Acoustic Guitar, there are also two types, such as Folk Guitar and Classcial
Guitar. On Folk Guitar, the strings are made of steel, so it’s good for strumming. On Classic Guitar,
the strings are made of nylon, suitable for picking. Electic Guitar that use one of more pickup to
convert the vibration of its string to electrical signal and the vibration occurs when guitar player
strums, plucks, fingerpicks, slap or tap the string. Bass guitar is plucked string instrument similar in
appearance and construction to an electric guitar, except with a longer neck and scale length, and
four to six strings or courses. The four-string bass is usually tuned the same as the double bass,
which corresponds to pitches one octave lower than the four lowest-pitched strings of a guitar (E, A,
D, and G)
. In conclusion, guitar have many types and characterisics. For example Acoustic Guitar , on folk
guitar good for strumming, classical guitar is nice for picking because the strings are made of nylon.
Solid-body of Electric Guitar depend on electric pickup and an amplifier speakers, so it’s good for
rock music, blues, and jazz. And Bass Guitar, it is primarily play with the finger or thumb, or striking
with a pick.
